Were we asleep during the DX8/9 versus opengl fight? Opengl has been crap for a long time, at least in computer years. So is this topic. Linux is for people with no hardware firewalls, who turn to linux for security after their own personal failures making their own pc secure. It's obvious in the fact anything not connected thru ethernet has serious problems with most linux machines. Linux is generally used NOW by people who have no clue how to use their pc,

Time for some facts to shutup the pc gaming is dying lunatics. In 3 months, the Steam platform of digital distribution went from 12 million to 15 million users, and had 158% growth for the holiday. http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/51191 As an example, combined sales for all consoles in feb 2008 were far lower, and no one console came close to the new users steam had. <A href="http://www.gamepro.com/

Just as an example, 1 month after the orange box got released valve released info on 600,000 instances of HL2 episode 2 players played. Most sales come after, and the orange box never sold as much as COD4. If I had to make a guess, sales for Orange box online are 2 million or more, sales of COD4 are 4 million or more. We aren't gonna know until online sales are shown. But as of right now, jumping the gun and saying pc gaming is dead when the online sales are very good

Those of you who look at b&m sales, guess what? That's not the only way a game is sold now on a pc. While online sales aren't yet calculated, analyst's believe onlien sales are far better then any console sold. WoW has more users then any console. Steam has 15 million users. 200 million people bought a popcap game in the past year. Stop your 'pc gaming is dying' rants because their stupid. PC Gaming is going online, not dying. Online pc gaming

Then please sic the mods towards me, if you want. I'm not a person that'll hide behind political correctness. And saying you agree with alot of points is useless if you don't say what they are. or are we afraid of taking sides?

Taking sides with someone is not so nice, and not a way to stop people, moron. Furthermore, saying someone inplied and someone did is the stupidest method of protecting someone yet. Implications are the same as said. The intentions are the same. Please take your idiotic ramblings elsewhere.

For all your idiotic steam bashing rants, try looking at any digital distribution site. All the major publishers have their games the same price, due to b&m stores. I love idiotic kids who don't take business classes and think they know something. Esp. kids who think because they say so, their opinion is FACT. The truth is, just because you didn't like those games, doesn't mean they aren't a good deal.

BTW, moron, in case you were born yesterday, brick and morter retailers don't like digital distrbution. Alot of the reason games are higher priced is because publishers don't want their games pulled off shelves. You can't learn that in redneck school, eh?

Are you stupid, or do you intentionally ignore what doesn't agree with you? http://www.steampowered.com/v/index.php?area=game&AppId=70&cc=US Theirs something called packages where you pay in bulk and get a much better price then the $9.95. If you buy the games seperate you are an IDIOT. Do you get it now moron?
To who is a 10 hour game, a 2 hour game, a puzzle game demo, and a long lasting multiplayer game NOT a deal? And then you Get HL2 and EP1.In case you were sleeping the last 5 years, most games nowadays are 5 hours long.To the people who ALREADY OWNED HALF THE GAMES IN THERE? What a shit justification there. Oh, and the reason most old Valve games are $10 seperate is the same reason you have a Totalgaming.net subscription for indie games...Your supposed to buy it in packs, to get saving
I was also thinking that if people are forced to buy Vista we might see more people pirating XP. Assuming of course that XP would no longer be available from any source to buy.
Highly doubtful that these people who would pirate Xp would be interested in advancing technology. They just wanna buy the same type of PC with Xp.

The fact is, those who can't accept change need to get out of the pc market. The arguments are that people still use Win 98 and 2k. I think this Valve hardware survey speaks volumes about that: http://www.steampowered.com/status/survey.html Xp has already killed off any past OS. And Vista is gaining, and will soon kill off it. Of over 1,200,000 people using Windows Xp, 9,000 use Windows 2k.
