so, you are essentially making an announcement for an announcement. well, as we say in austria "vorfreude ist die schönste freude". it definately sounds like my cup of tea, even though I never played MoM. lets see what comes along. I already have a title: N ight o f N ether: M ysterium o f M agic.

concerning refineries: I personally do not find them particukarly worth the trouble, I mean, c'mon, all you get from a single one is usually a 0.1 increase in extraction rate? this is a mere fraction of a single normal extractor and it costs quite a bunch of resources to build them, and the research is also not so cheap. no, I really prefer the other types of reserch. may not produce that huge effects, but at least I do not need to waste resources and logistcs slots for it. ahm, for s

What do you mean stacks? I like the idea for ship names, the Marza has "Dreadnought" written on its hull and if you look close you can see LRM on the Javelis frigs, and P4 or something on the colony frigs. I think writing on the Advent ships could look good if done right but might ruin their clean lines. Vasari ships look bad enough as it is though, and its not like Vasari is the same as English with the letters swapped for symbols.

I didn't check the last time and I definately want to have an option for the latter available, in whichever form. Just the one unit, unfortunately. It used to queue the whole stack in beta, but was lost somewhere along the way to release.
well then, something to fix. good we mentioned it.
So it basically comes down to this summary... Problem - Cap ships are not used because they are not worth the research and production costs. This is true in all game modes, but most prevalent in multiplayer. (In single player, its possible to get such a commanding lead that resources are no longer a problem.) Solution - Do something, anything really, so cap ships are more useful and worth buying. This could

And I thought the HC was ugly.
being essentially an economist faction, the TEC probably cares fairly little for prettyness. as such, the motto is something like "form follows function". one could argue that there is a certain beauty in that. I don't find them particurly pretty, but - provided they give us some more background on the races - this kind of ships may fit perfectly in the race's atmos

1) maybe it's just me, but interstellar speed seems a bit fast to me. they charge up and then zip over so fast. I'd like the trip to take more in the range of 20 - 30 seconds. it's mostly an aesthetical thing, but it would emphasise the vast distance between stars a bit better and I do not think it would impair gameplay that much. 2) another issue of speed: sometimes it feels as if capships are produced too quickly. these are supposed to be very big ships and they cost a lot. I do not

well. then you might want to be a bit more careful on communication here. while forum posts are of course by no means official announcement, a response from a stardock official does seem kind of ... binding. especially, if it is issued several times. don't get me wrong, I don't mind, but contradictory information will always come back and bite you, even more so, if no reasons for them are given.

hm, another idea: how about emergency shield generators? they cost some am to acticate, and once activated constantly drain drain a portion of am. but they also improve shields, preferable a one time boost and an increase in mitigation. this could be something to automate (lets say, it only activates when mitigation is already at 50 or 60%) and it need not be unbalanced. after all, focus fire would then force the enemy to keep the generators on, which causes a drain in am, which keeps him fro

indeed you do. and its something that actually happens in some situations, for example to attack or defend culturally near borders. I am not sure, but I think there is a cap to it, so it does not rise indefinately. tbh I do not put a huge emphasis on culture, unless pressed into it. I try to get the tech along the way and spread a few around my empire, so that every planet gets it at least from its neighbouring planet which is enough to raise the allegiance cap for the extra resources

it would also be possible to give capships a general big boost and exaggerate their weapons arcs more. for example, some ships can have a lot of front batteries, others side weapons and still others have good allround cover. I know, it is already, but as I said, it could be more pronounced. to give a short example, a long time ago, still in the beta testing, we did some playing of for example a kol vs a marza. result was that unmanaged, the marza would beat the kol handily. if, howeve

yeah, HoMM III is also a very good game. got the collection for 10 euros some time ago. definately a good investment. aahh, archangels, black dragons, super tough spells. from what I played, part V did seem good, but I don't know much about the ai. if it can only compete by cheating then it sucks. @ op: for future notice, you might want to pick a clearer title and make the ensuing post relate more to it. while your suggestions hold merit, none of it strikes me as interface problems. what's more, there is a bunch of suggestions threads, so I don't quite see the particular aspects that justify yet another one. look around a bit, your suggestions are in fact fairly popular and have been brought up before, so you're in good company to discuss details and operative stuff.

hm, you mentioned many things I would have thought of already. you could try the cheap version and play civ IV with one of the various mods out there. some change the game pretty drastically and are in general pretty stable and polished. also, I think the colonizaton remake also supports mp. however, that may be too similar to the game you have already played for some time, so its maybe not an optimal solution. personnally, I played HoMM a bit and liked it, but then again, if you are

certainly sounds like a good idea, suggested it myself some time ago. concerning the varied bombers: as a matter of fact, even now bombers are not necessarily first choice vs everything, there are a few ships which fighers can kill more effectively. as such, a very light interceptor, or defensive fighter that is really just vs squads sounds like a good idea. also, I would like to see a planet bomber squad. very slow and vulnerable and needs to get very close to the planet for the damage, but
