I wouldn't mind Peggle or Bejeweled during all the down time. There's a lot waiting for games to start and during death. I don't know though, I might get the itch halfway to victory and feel the need to sacrifice myself in order to line up a few gems for 30 seconds or so.

I think everyone in this thread missing the point of the first reply. It's a reference to Oak shouting "AKWARD!". By bringing up Vietnam, it makes for an akward conversation with some Americans. That's all.
1) Know-it-alls, that don't really know it all. 2) Angsty know-it-alls, that still don't know it all. 3) Rage-quitting know-it-alls, that are going off to prove to someone else how little they actually know. 4) The guy dumping so much gold into the citadel that the minions are more of a threat than he is. 5) Anyone that repeatedly engages the enemy before level 5 or so... while finally reaching level 5 when the rest of us are 8 or 9.
Your team did great in everything but the important stuff, detroying buildings. They destroyed 11, and you guys only destroyed 1, and it wasn't the right one (Citadel). Next time spend less time doing damage to every living creature you see and focus on the objective.

I had Colonel Jessup (post right above this) in the lobby of a game I was joining. According to the Connection Info screen he was only connected to the Host, and everyone else in the room saw him as a red 0 like he describes. But, I nor anyone other than the host could see anything he typed. He left and rejoined the room a couple times with no success. Just giving a bit more info on a problem he describes in his post.
I have 697,768,192. I am humbled by your one billion + superiority. Why haven't you ascended yet?
Hmm, no that's not what I am suggesting. By pointing out the quality of towers compared to the lack of quality for General Minions I was making the point that perhaps Rook is unintentionally the best General, and he's just an assassin.. gobk2b
My Wife plays, she's a Regulus and UB fan. She doesn't play online though, just over our LAN with me.
If you've read the game manual for Demigod you may see that on page 20 it tells you to forward ports 6100-6200 in your router, but you really need to forward 6000-6200 (I've seen this mentioned in various posts by Frogboy since release). As an example, with beta patch 1.00.0113 I am starting games using port 6073 (at least accoording to the in-game dialogue that appears in the chat window of a game lobby) When I go into my router and set the forwarded ports to 6100-6200 the gam
I find Rook towers to be more reliable and effective than Minotaurs, and he's a mere assassin. Plus they offer alot of diversity when it comes to placement and use wheather it is healing, damage, whatever. I find them much more useful for healing than priests.
This is a pet peeve of mine as well. We need some consistency in what we are calling armies, minions, reinforcements, allies etc.
Although I didn't have connection problems of my own, the difference in getting games started reliably is night and daycompared to the constant connection problems suffered by other folks before the patch. Also, the #1 bug on my hate-list was fixed, the "I don't care what you tell me to do, I'm just going to stand here and quiver" bug associated with using an ability after issuing an attack command.
Joining games is very very fast now. We had one individual wasn't able to connect to all players in a 3v3 game, he kept leaving and rejoining the room within seconds instead of waiting half a minute or so to give the DB a chance to refresh, so it only perpetuated the problem; but once he stayed gone we got another player immediately, and the game was off. Gameplay was smooth, I didn't have the target/ignore commands bug, so that is a huge improvement. Favor points worked so far, and p
I just made a copy of the game dir, gave it to my friend, and played.
This is exactly what I did for my wife and I the first several days we were playing. Then later on I installed Impulse on her machine and redownloaded the whole thing there so I could get updates on both copies. Now we Lan together all the time.
It's hard for me to wrap my brain around the idea Stardock is only 30% a game company.
So not only should they provide the audio for free, but they should type it all out for free too? Here's what I did while listening to the Podcast, played GalCiv2. Reading it would have been more difficult because there's no real downtime in that game. Thumbs up for audio.
Every minute of the demigod discussion made me cringe.
I'd like to remap the WSAD key controls for the 3D RTS planetary battles, but there is no option in-game. Does anyone know if there is a settings file that can be edited?
I can easily suck at a game I enjoy. Often I feel aimless and overwhelmed halfway through these types of games though. The tech tree's start to feel convoluted, and I find myself clicking through dozens of turns feeling like I'm passing the time but not having any idea what I should be doing specifically. But I figure one day it will all make sense, in the mean time I'll keep playing hehe
Yea the RTS was a brain fart/typo. I just got done reading a thread about RTS vs TBS and had RTS on the brain. I meant TBS. These are the TBS games I've played and nejoyed, but sucked at: Civ Series -- Age of Wonders -- Alpha Centauri -- Lords of Magic -- Warlords III -- GalCiv Series -- and probably a fewothers I don't recall.
I pre-ordered just now. I don't know why I keep buying RTS games. I have fun for the first hourt, then the computer starts slowly kicking my butt over the next several hours until I lose in humiliation. I've been buying and playing RTS games since about the time of Civ2 in 1995 or so. Sometimes I think I need a class to teach me how to play, because my strategies never work very well. But I keep trying.
Is there a title for it yet? I'd like to track it via gamespot etc too. I am sooo looking forward to this. The last great turn based Fantasy games I played were Age of Wonders, Lords of Magic, Warlords III, oh so many years ago.
Anyone else crashing when they create a Terror Star + 1 Fighter Fleet in this patch?
