As for the 3000th post, anybody is welcome to try to claim it, hehe. ~ques up 9 tabs in FF and readies the spam~ Sadly, an iron-fisted ruler with impulse would just delete a post and plop in his/her/it's own.
Ah, so true. Lucky then that I try to be a more enlightened emperor, rather than a autocratic tyrant. That's tyrant with a small "t" so dont you Tyrants get all worked up. ;) <a href="http

That ending seemed a bit of a letdown to me As for known space, rereading the older ones is definitely suggested. Specifically, read Crashlander before Fleet of Worlds and Juggler of Worlds, and Protector (and all 4 Ringworld books) before the two short stories by Harrington in M-K Wars XI. Those sets are too interconnected to be read in isol

Sounds very interesting...defintely on my list. :) I did read the Dune clone, Destiny's Forge a few months ago, which was decent. What I have been reading most recently though is the Reality Dysfunction/Neutronium Achemist/Naked God series which was quite awesome. The ending was a bit much of deus ex machina, but overall an exceptional series. <img src="http://www.mypicshare.com/thumbs/20070803/vqrp

I'm sure there will be people submitting to the MV for as long as Stardock wants to maintain it. MV activity is surely slowing down gradually, but is still pretty active. I've been working on my latest Swindle, trying to break 700k on a Huge map, and I think I'm going to do it. Here's a shot of my econ at the height of my largest net BCs, during Year 3: I managed to break 1 million net BCs. :D I estimate the game will come in at over 750k! Last score test at the end of Year 3 was 450,100. <a href="http://www.mypic

I think it's the only way they could get the AI to compete if the player has a decent colony rush strategy. One way in which this "cheating" is sub-optimal is that they seem to disregard planet quality (size), so they'll end up with more low PQ planets than the player. If you want to alleviate this, start your game, save on turn 1, play a number of turns in which you explore the area around you, then reload to turn 1. You'll know where everything good is located. <

1. This happens when you change the relations of the AIs before the game. If set them to anything other than "unknown" you will be able to talk to them before discovering them, if you have the requisite technology. 2. Trading values have always been a bit screwy. 3. You wont have to re-install. Just set relations back to unknown. 4. They need the Orbital Fleet Manager to defend as a fleet when orbiting a planet. <a href="http://www.mypicshare.com/vq
