The vowel sound after the k is almost nonexistant, but it's impossible to say it with no vowel sound at all. There is actually a basic Kzinti language that has been created (not nearly as developed as Klingon), and also a Kzinti script/alphabet. If you go to larryniven.org you can read about these things, and a lot more about the Kzinti. :) <img src="http://www.mypicshare.com/thumbs/20070803/vqrpalpt.

Whats your feline race General Homsar? Have you written about it in one of your AARs? <img src="http://www.mypicshare.com/thumbs/20070803/vqrpalpt.jpg" border="

Mumble, when I made my last post, the formatting was screwed up, and I couldnt even view the last page of the post. Every time I tried it crashed my browser. I immediately contacted Kryo to have someone hopefully fix it, and it looks like they did. Thanks for contacting them too. :) I often seem to have trouble with the formatting since the forum upgrade. Im glad the thread is working properly again. As for what we were actually talking about to begin with, I think we've all said w
Mumble, I too think you took that a little too seriously...Judging by these forums, I'm beginning to doubt any empire will still be rolling a year from now. The metaverse has helped keep the game interesting, but the reality is the game's short comings / bugs / lack of polish have got me to the point I can see not playing anymore at all.The sad thing is I would never have said that about GC (on OS2, which I kept around just for the game) or GC1. I just pray they get TA right, so this disc

Mumble, I think you are taking Sethpenguin's post too seriously. I think when saying that his empire hated mine, it was just some roleplaying of sorts. As for him saying the Diplomats had it coming, I dont know what he was talking about and just ignored that part of his statement. If you look at his other posts in various threads, you'll see that he often says puzzling or random things, sometimes to the point of being non-sensical. I've found this to be entertaining at times.
I know that our empires may hate eachother, but good job on getting to be #1 on the Meta, but you guys beating the Galactic Diplomats questions us Geckodons, but still you did take them out, they had it coming. We plan on joing you guys in the Metaverse by using altenative methods of galactic conquest.
Thanks Sethpenguin. We dont hate the Geckodon Alliance, we just really enjoy chasing around all those little squiggly lizards, and eating them. It's the natural way

I always use a custom civ, because I like tweaking everything so it's just how I want it. You do get a few less points with a custom civ, but you can more than make up for it by getting exactly what you like. Plus, i just think it's just plain fun to create a civilization from scratch. :) <FONT colo

Not at all....yet. ;) Right now, you are accumulating knowledge and facts about the political system, and havent had much of a chance to actually participate to a great degree in the political process. If I were to go back to college, I'd go for a political science degree this time around myself. I think anybody that does become intimately involved in politics does have to get "down in the muck" to some degree to be successful. Unfortunately, that is how the system works. Also, there's the
If you don`t make it into politics you at least can tell your prospective employer that you have enormous leadership abilities - you once were a great Patriarch of a huge interstellar Empire called "Kzinti Empire". That does extremely well on a job application i think
Hehe, only if they are looking to hire insane people. I can imagine how that would go over! <img src="http://www.mypicsha

Firebender, hmmm....that sounds sort of spicy and unusual. You dont want to get eaten do you? ;) but I joined because of the atmosphere and story line. Also, Kzinti Patriarch has some charisma that I can't put my finger on. Maybe he should run for office. Thanks for the compliments about the empire Motti. :D I'll have another bit of story sometime soon. You're probably joking about politics, but it is something I've actually t

I wonder if there has been a reduction in activity on the forums after the changes. Personally I find them less functional overall than before the upgrade, and aggravating enough to make me want to use them only as much as I "need" to. Sentient species taste better... </FONT

Could the OP please be updated with the current team-members. I'm not sure of everyone who is in or out for Team D. I never heard from Haart at all, GalenEvil is out indefinitely with computer problems, and PlayJeff is on another team now. Sentient species taste better... <

I dont know if this is related to the forum changes, but with my PMs the message count was off by 10. It showed me as having 10 more than I actually did. Clicking "empty all folders" deleted everything successfuly, including the phantom messages. Sentient species taste better.
I forgot about the Space Miner trick. I did use that ploy.
I upgrade the miner to a colony ship virtually every game. Some other civ will mine the asteroids next to my homeworld and then it will flip to me relatively soon, so I mostly ignore them in the beginning of the game.

I think you are merely looking for information with which to decide if you want to start playing DA, so as not to be at a disadvantage. <img src="http://www.mypicsha
Of course i go for conquest victory, i just keep them off me by diplomacy
Nice score on your second game di55sec7ion. :CONGRAT: I use diplomacy in that way too, mainly by keeping all the AIs at war with at least one other AI. I especially try to make them declare war on each other when they have a special treaty with each other. This makes them take a big reputation hit and prevents any alliances from eventually forming. Otherwise, diplomacy is for grass-eaters!<br
I do think we will need a draft this round. We have another new players who has recently posted in the sign up thread plus the return of playjeff to the MVL as well.
Also last I heard Brad mention, which was close to a year ago, that this would be the last metaverse that any of his games would have. Again this thought is rather bleak as well. I mean GC2 is a great game and all but without the forums and the metaverse it's far less than with them.Certainly all good things come to an end and at some point you need to move on. Thanks for trying to improve the forums, but here are some issues I have with the changes. One annoyance I'm seeing is that when I go into a thread, it no longer goes to the last page I looked at for that thread, but always to the first page. Sometimes when I try to go the next page in a long thread, it wont load that page at all. The "last reply" issue has certainly been aggravating. I really like that I could see when the most recent reply was, and when my most re
