Hey Jan, Thanks for the response.

Greetings, Have just upgraded to Start11 version 2. Does this install over version 1, or is it an uninstall/reinstall. Sorry for the obvious question, but didn't see anything in the FAQ. Thanks, Graham
Greetings, The latest Windows update really messed up the taskbar. Installed 1.42. All issues, except one, appear to be cleared up. The only thing I noticed is, on the right click menu, the top option is pre-selected. I don't even know if that has always been normal behaviour. Thanks so much for taking care of this so quickly. I only have one question: I have a dual boot machine. For some reason, before 1.42, I had the custom Start button option turned on in one in
Greetings, I have just updated my computer to Windows 22H2 22621.1344. I held off, as there was evidence that the latest version created issues with desktop enhancements. I read that Stardock released version 1.41 which was (my guess) created to be compatible with Windows update KBKB5022913. So, I installed the MS update and then updated Start11. The update did not seem to add any complications or issues other than what you see below. <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/
Hi Paul, I opened the ticket and sent the files you requested...one for each installation. Is there anything else you want? Thanks, Graham
Thanks Paul, On one installation I have Microsoft Defender. On the other, I have Webroot Secure Anywhere. I also have Malwarebytes, but real time protection is turned off and there is no scheduled scan. I'll confirm that. No other anti-malware. I have been getting requests to activate Start11 on both installations. That's two different anti-malware programs. I have Revo uninstaller but there is no run schedule for the cleaner. I'll also confirm that. Furthermore, anytime I uni
I am not eager to disable my malware defense for a week or more. Of more interest would be why your key file disappears in an environment where the file is whitelisted, is not in quarantine and is scanned as a clean file. I also can't imagine why I wouldn't be advised if my malware defense interacted with the file. I do not know of an antimalware program that makes files disappear without comment. The only other action I can take is to forward the file to the antimalware vendor.
I whitelisted the key file in both installations. Also scanned the files and they obviously were clean. I am still intermittently being asked for my key and email. When I am asked, the key file is missing in the ProgramData folder. How do you/we make this go away?
Will check and report back
I followed the instructions to delete the folder as per error 212. I wasn't asked for reactivation immediately. I was asked for product key about 5 days later.
Hello Basj , That didn' t work.
I realize there are other threads regarding this topic. However, I am getting rather exasperated at having to repeatedly enter my product key for Start11. I have a dual boot machine with paid licenses for each install. But at least once a week and sometimes more, I am asked to enter my product key on each installation. I already contacted support through this forum and did the 'fix'. The issue has not gone away. Each install is u
Greetings, I run a dual boot Windows machine. I have 2 licenses for Start11. I am asked regularly on each installation to enter my key and email address. This is getting aggrevating. Would Stardock please tell me how to make this go away. Regards, Graham
Thanks AzDude and Paul, I will reactivate both installs using correct keys. Will then delete the folders and let you know the result. This doesn't happen every day, so you may not hear from me for awhile. Thanks, Graham
Greetings, I have licenses for Start11 (upgrade) in both of my Windows 11 installs. I have been asked more than once, to enter my product key in both installs. The keys are accepted each time. I should point out that my machine is dual boot with, as pointed out above, licenses for both installs. I would like to know how to make the program stop asking me for information I have already provided. Thanks, Graham
Thanks Basj, Will delete folder in both installations.
I have 2 licenses for Start10. I have migrated to a new computer, with 2 copies of Windows 10 installed on separate partitions (guess I stated the obvious there). After installing the operating systems on the new machine, I installed Start10 in each copy of Windows. I activated each copy using my account login. I am getting regular requests to activate Start10 and I would like that to go away. I should point out that each time I receive a request to activate the program, when I log in
Thanks Basj
Greetings, First, I hope you are all staying well in these trying times. I have a dual boot machine, each installation having its own copy of Start 10. I don't want to lose the customizations I have setup when I move. How do I go about saving the configuration for Start 10, so that I can migrate with a minimum of fuss. Thanks, Graham
I am using Vista Home Premium. I have installed IconPackager. When setting up preferences, I checked the box mentioned in the title. I think that's a great idea. I rebooted, and after restart, I looked and there were no tabs in the properties pages. I opened the app and the box I had checked, was unchecked. I reselected....same result as above. I uninstalled/reinstalled....no change. Can anybody help me out here? If I can't get the app to make the change, is there a manual reg edit I can do myse
Greetings I am new to the forum. Perhaps I should be in the beginners forum, however I am somewhat familiar with the OS. I digress. I have purchased IconPackager and I have downloaded a number of collections. My concern is with the tendancy of Vista to forget folder views. I am also concerned about Vista forgetting icons when moved from one location to another. Am I correct in assuming that loading a custom package of icons will increase the icon cache? And if so, am I risking cache c
