Niel, thanks, that worked. Everything is working like a champ! I don't suppose one of you can reset my activation for Start 8, I already have a trouble ticket in, HTL-226-40792
trebuin
I've seen the same thing, when modern mix installs, both that and start 8 fails to run. In services.msc, both go from auto to manual and will not start automatically. If I set start 8 to auto run alone, it will work, but modern mix of course would be disabled. As soon as I set modermix to auto run, then next time I reboot, the computer will log on, automatically log off, then I log on again, both have gone back to disabled. Something is definitely not working. &nbs
Repost since I posted in the wrong location: v 7.95: bringing firefox to full screen causes addressbar text to be cut off on the top. Reverting to windowed mode does not show this bug. Going back again to full screen will bring it back. Using diamond theme. Resetting theme while in full screen causes problem to go away, but bug still exists by going to windowed and then full screen.
This may have been reported, but if not, here we go: v 7.95: bringing firefox to full screen causes addressbar text to be cut off on the top. Reverting to windowed mode does not show this bug. I was also having issues in avast where the program windows where horribly distorted. I don't have the version that created that, but I will test it with the new version thisafternoon. I don't think I can reproduce on 7.91 so this may not be an issue.
Both tested versions are 7.91
Coherence with Parallels: When I'm using that, any theme I use will cause a block around all the windows skinned...I'm assuming to provide buffer space for different themes. Solutions: 1) a way to reduce this to size to the theme or 2) an optional feature to automatically revert to the default windows theme instead of blinds when parallels it changed to coherence mode.
I don't know how much it is asking, but would it be possible to diffuse (blur) the background for the glassing effect rather than just a sharp clear picture? The title text and text behind the glassed effects are difficult to read sometimes and blurring would solve that.
I figured it out. You guys were very close to the cause. My HP has a fingerprint scanner and hp provides the software "digital persona personal." I finally went through rebooting and sutting down individual programs and services and after shutting this one down, the problem was solved. "dpagent.exe" or "DigitalPersona local Agent" had to be shut down twice to find this, but I can just use autoruns to disable that logon program to prevent it from happing. </p
Ok, I finished installing this on another system of mine running windows 7...full install. This works absolutly fine...no blank spaces. Something HP has done to my wife's system causes these blank spaces. If anyone wants to try to fix this, let me know and I'll try my best to help. I'm thinking in the end it will take a full install to fix the problem.
I've mentioned this problem before with Vista 64, but with Windows 7 it is really bad. Basically, when I close a program, the icon disappears, but the space it occupies remaines and the title remains while providing no function when clicked. For vista, I only found one program, Thunderbird. With Windows 7, it seems like any program operating system related as well as others, such as calulator, excel, and using the recycle bin. I know this program does not support Win
This is posted in my post as well, but now we have a half solution in two places: Here's a half fix...there needs to be an update for option b: A) if you use thunderbird (or firefox) that has this problem, do the following: 1) create thunderbird.bat (right click, new, text document, then rename the file thunderbird.bat, you'll have to have your extentions showing) 2) add the follo

Figured it out...but no solution yet. Somehow, Mozilla's Thunderbird (using the beta version) is not loading into OD correctly. It simply leaves a blank spot where and icon should be. After closing it, the spot remains with the thunderbird text as well. This only occurs on my wife's computer. Firefox does not have any problems like this. If thunderbird is closed, I can restart OD and those spots will disappear. If thunderbird is running, I can restart
I just found out my blank spaces problem is actually the same thing as this. My firefox works fine, though. On one computer, thunderbird works just fine, but on my wife's computer, blank spaces. I have to restart od to get it to either fix, or show a thunderbird icon.
Patiently, Bump.
I'm using 537u on vista 64 on an HP dv5t. Basically, there are spaces that begin appearing were items should have been closed or are open in the background. This can also add up. This may be tied to sleep in some way. It only appears on my my 64-bit hp and not my 64-bit dell. Restarting OD or changing some settings within OD seems to reset it were the blanks are gone. Hopefully you guys have seen that. If not, I'd be willing to try a recent be
