yeah, I had to fight with it a bit so I could get the HD option. my initial capture was in 1024x768 and all the pixels were nice and square. I don't think it warped the video too much (not any more than youtube did already anyway)
*whoosh*

Don't forget to watch in HD! [e digicons][/e]
I'm actually hoping the beta gets delayed a few more days. I've been forced to cut way back on my spending due to the economy, and the earliest I can possibly scrape together the money for a preorder is next Tuesday. I'd hate to just miss the beta window after following the development of the game for so long. [e digicons]:S[/e] Sorry to hear about the illness, though. I hope you all get better soon.

"Players can even create high-resolution PNG files from their maps and dungeons to print out and use for tabletop strategy games or RPGs, a feature inspired by the Campaign Cartographer software Wardell used to use in his Dungeons & Dragons-playing days." That second screenshot reminds me of Rampart's tetris-style wall building phase.
According to wikipedia, in 2005 the median (not average) annual personal income for those over the age of 18 was $25,149. For those over the age of 25, it was $32,140. As for taxes, they vary widely based on both income level and place of residence. For federal income tax, the tax rate increases with income. The first $7,550 is taxed at 10%, the next $23,100 is taxed at 15%, etc. all the way up to 35%. There are also a lot of tax credits and deductions that make some or all of y
1. C&C 3: Tiberium Wars My friends all got addicted to Tiberium Sun when I was in high school and I really wanted to play it with them, but I missed out on all the fun due to being too poor to own a computer. So when I saw C&C 3 in the store, I decided I should give the series a try. Paid $60 for the collector's edition, played one game, uninstalled. It didn't run well on my computer, and base management seemed to require far too much clicking for me to
Last I heard, Guild Wars 2 is scrapping that identity and going for a mindless slog through multiple levels, with a well-built PvP system.
Animated avatars are not permitted. Sorry thrawn, but I've gotta ask you to change it.
Why is that? I'm not trying to challenge the rules or anything, but I'm curious, and this is a thread about making avatars. There's a size limit on all avatars, animated or not, so it can't be a bandwidth issue. So what is it? Is it an aesthetic preference? Was Thrawn hiding a subliminal message in his avatar? <
I honestly don't know which way I would prefer to go on this issue. I think I would enjoy either one. Dwarf Fortress-style random generators can be lots of fun, as anyone who has played the game will tell you. Their forums are full of tales of strange occurances and unexpectedly appropriate names. There are some really awesome stories in their community archive. The problem (or great strength, depending on your perspective) is that nothing in the game's world has any inherent meaning.
If the lore will be added to the game inthe way Jalicos describes then I will be thrilled. Even if that is the case I still would not want to see a system where you can tell what the Tower of Time will contain just because you saw it before.
It's a tricky balance. On the one hand, if the Tower of Time is always the same, then it gains a certain legitimacy. It's The Tower of Time, officially and canonically. That would be r
The important takeaway point from this: Stardock betas are not demos. They're actually betas. The game is nowhere near done, and your feedback can lead to real changes in where the game goes.
Wouldn't be the first time, for me. My very first beta test was for a fantasy RTS made by a bunch of well-knowns in the Starcraft community. My tricky early-game cheese tactics resulted in not one, but two important gameplay tweak

Mostly Guild Wars. I still needed to finish the Nightfall campaign, and my brother needed to get to the victory area to craft some armor, so we teamed up to obliterate the boss after our first embarrassing attempt at dance-fighting it to death. [e digicons][/e] I also played some Persona 3, and started a new game of Cave Story . Gonna try for the secret ending this time.
Ignoring the flames... I interpreted Brad's statement a little differently from how everyone else seems to have interpreted it. I don't think he means that your sandbox game will have a storyline, I think he means the things in your sandbox game will have a story. If you discover a dungeon, you can learn who built it and why. If you find a powerful artifact, it will come with a history of how it was made and what heroic deeds were done with it in the past. If you loc
After poking around on the official website, I'm starting to have some doubts about this game. I like the concept, the graphics are nice but not expensive-upgrade nice, and it sure does look like Tribes, but the weapon/vehicle/deployable lists look an awful lot like Halo. The weapons are very generic-looking, and almost all of them are kinetic. Almost nothing does appreciable splash damage, whereas in Tribes 2 almost everything made big explosions. I worry that hitting player
OMG OMG OMG IT'S TRIBES 3!!! [e digicons]:O[/e] I watched the trailer, and every time they switched to first-person gameplay footage it felt like I was back on Katabatic sniping heavies and storming the enemy base. I actually saw a poster for this in a game store last week, and I remarked that while I didn't know anything about the game, I sure liked what they called it. Now I know I like the game, too.
I made a few avatars based on some of the map symbols that appear in the recent alpha screenshots. The crystal and boxes look a bit odd outside of the
I got into the Star Trek CCG, myself. I heard of Lot5R, but never met anyone who played it. The mere possibility of a kitsune deck and all the hilarious mayhem and confusion such a thing would cause is making me wish I had. Now I'm wondering where kitkun's avatar is from. That pink background is definitely game-sprite transparency. EDIT: Just remembered that there was a big "what's your avatar?" thread a while back. Looks like it's just some random image she found on the inter

I know I won't be selected. I haven't preordered yet due to finances, and I haven't been participating in the community much lately due to being busy with work, other games, trying to get off my butt and start a writing career, etc. As much as I would love to help this game be successful, I already have enough motivation issues right now without having a new strategy game stealing all my free time. Ah. I remember seeing that "Elemental Animals" piece before, but for some reason I didn't recognize the fox without the other three. I just assumed it was your offering to appease the kitkun, but it looked enough like pixel art that it could have come from a game. I don't remember any games featuring a pissed-off kitsune, though.
Haven't checked the thread in a while...

What is this from, where can I get it, and can I have a version without the fire symbols on it?
