Cool, I check it as soon as I get home...so it is possible to make it transparent? IRB is saying 1st......it has to be a 24bit bitmap image2nd......(opaque)means solid We all wished it could be done but we wait till Windowblinds will allow ua to make it the way!Hope it steers your in the right direction!
It does, I suppose...now I won't waste any time trying. As you say, I'll just wait until WB shows us the way:)
check the file names to make sure they are 'replacing' them
That's done for me because from skin to skin, Tinar has the same names for certain image files, buttons, etc. You can check out his library of WB skins for XP here and see for yourself: http://007tinar.deviantart.com/gallery/#Windowblinds-XP His stuff is absolutely beautiful...except he's a big fan of blue in ways that I'm not. Everything blue I changed to red EXCEPT the Min and Max/Restore button, to st

Of course, I always save the changes. Here's what worked originally: I changed the color scale across the board for the INVI Dark skin so that all the blue graphics became red. Then I copied & pasted the Max/Min/Close buttons from the original INVI Dark skin folder (because when I made the across-the-board color changes it naturally affected those buttons as well, but I like the standard Windows button theme of Blue (Maximize/Restore), Blue (Minimize) and Red (Close) - and that worked p

I was using one of Tinar's awesome INVI Dark skins with Windows XP Pro. Not being a very big fan of blue, I had changed all the blue colors to red and had changed the window button colors accordingly. I recently upgraded from Windowblinds 4.6 to Windowblinds 6 and for some reason I lost the color changes I'd made to the Max/Min/Close window buttons. No matter what I try, the changes don't stick - is it because I'm still using SkinStudio 5? Any help would be greatly appreciated - thanks in adv
Not sure I followed that exactly...but...in XP,the special (explorer)folder images will only show if the top left pixel of the image is an exact match for the window color. If we could use translucency it wouldnt be an issue but all but 1 has to be a bitmap.(control or system,I dont remember)
Awesome, that was it! I just matched the numbers of the images & the window background colors in basic Paint and it worked! God I'm dumb... Thanks again:)

Okay, this all started because I had to upgrade - for absurd work purposes - to Office 2007. And when I first installed it I was not seeing the purty tabbed skin MS must be so proud of. Instead I was seeing a colorless, or rather greyed out splotchy version. I searched and found that quite a few people had experienced this, either because of an extra SMS driver on their system or because of incompatible color settings. And by incompatible, I mean that if your 3d Objects color in

I know you can exclude a program in WindowFX but even if you exclude it, the taskbar preview still comes up. I have a WMP powertoy in my system tray and even though WMP is in my exclusions list, the taskbar preview still comes up when I mouse over it, which is kind of a pain. Is there a way, in general, to disable taskbar preview in addition to exlucding an app? ANy help would be greatly appreciated -- thanks in advance...!

Actually, I may have fixed it! I don't want to jinx it but if it still doesn't work, I'll try what you said - btw, thanks for responding. What I did was I changed the command in my registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER - > Control Panel -> Desktop -> AutoEndTask 1 to 0. I forgot that when I first installed XP Pro two years, I changed this setting to speed up shutdown. But I read on another site that this change can sometimes cause programs to forget their settings. I've restarted several

Using 1.9 free version and despite the fact I saved my theme, I keep getting this message like every other startup. I have no live info docklets (like weather, news, system info, etc.) All I have are program icons which have not changed since I installed and I still keep getting this message every other time I startup my PC. I even deleted the default theme so there wouldn't be a question of which theme to load - but still, almost every time I boot up my machine I get this error. I

I just recently started using WB 5.5. I had a pretty good experience with WB4 awhile back but I was stuck with a Mac for awhile for work. But with WB 5.5, I'm looking everywhere and I don't see the option where you can uncheck 'Use recommended skin settings' or something like that...I downloaded a skin which I can apply with no problem. Then I make a few font changes, etc. Then I reboot and all my changes are gone, even though I saved them as a 'Favorite' theme. Is this no

I do have SP2 applied. And I was referring to Application transparency. For example, if I set Microsoft Word 2003 to be partially transparent through WindowFX, once I minimize it and run my mouse over the taskbar button to generate a preview thumbnail, the screen will flicker. Then when I click on the taskbar button to restore Microsoft Word, I get an invisible window. This also happens if I have an application set to be partially transparent via another program, like Glass2K, ALphaXP, e

I've had to uninstall all Transparency software to get the Taskbar Preview in WindowFX to function correctly; if used long enough with other transparency software, even with its own explorer window transparency feature, it will cause minimized windows to be invisible when you maximize or restore them. I'm using WindowFX 3.0 (32-bit) I have XP Pro ATI Radeon X1900 XTX with latest Catalyst drivers. Any help or fixes for this would be dearly appreciated - thanks in ad

A friend who's coming back to PC after two years of what she called 'Mac Hell' is looking to get a Windowblinds skin that has Winamp controls, transparency ability, and some sort of animated graphic, however small (it's her way of celebrating her return from 'desktop communism,' as she calls it). The skin I use, FM, has Winamp control but nothing animated on it. I remember The Matrix skin which had loads of animated graphics but no Winamp controls or transparency feature.

I used Windowblinds a few years ago and I remember it used to be able to make explorer backgrounds transparent (or at least, paint your desktop wallpaper in the explorer background, giving the illusion of transparency). I know they stopped doing that in WB4, but I was wondering if WB 5 offers that? Thanks in advance...!
