In fact, the majority has often been proven to be wrong, usually in cases when they insists that there is no debate and the matter is settled. As a matter of fact, it is in the nature of science that no matter is EVER settled, and there is always a debate. Anytime scientists say otherwise, it is a bad thing, whether they are right or wrong. In fact, only a couple of decades ago, a young doctor was kicked out of the medical profession for insisting that stress does not cause ulcers--ba

i want citation for that before i let it by without saying something: it directly opposes what i understand to be the case (that the majority of scientists believe global warming is being caused or at least worsened by humans). And I want proof of that as well. I hear people say that the vast majority of scientist agree, and then I read many very prominent ones denying it. Some of the really big names, including state meteorologists. I'll try t
Since I combined several mods together in the default folder, I never had any trouble with it. I must say, I like it, and I enjoy more variety in the minor races. It's especially nice actually having some good minor races. I don't believe the original game had any.
Some facts to consider: Mars and Venus are also undergoing global warming at a similar rate to ours. We aren't polluting there. 80% of temperature sensors in the US used to compute land-based temperature figures are in contaminated locations, such as next to a trash burning barrel or air conditioning unit where the temperature would be artificially higher than normal. The temperature has constantly changed throughout history. Who is to say what temperature is "normal
Formis6, if you do enough of these things, I'll make a mod replacing the main races with ones based on your race animations. With your permission, of course.
I think the threat of a lawsuit would do it. Or at least a serious discussion and complaint that they are allowing illegal activity, which technically, they are. But you all are probably too nice, and likely too poor, to resort to such heavy-handed tactics. Which leaves us where we were before. I'll just lay the blame on ebay here, expecially as it looks like you guys have already made some effort along these lines, and move on.
Yes, that is what I meant, but I doubt it would be that difficult. Yes, of course, the current license holder would be the only one who could transfer, but other than that, it should be a matter of moving one entry around in the database. Then when someone came around complaining about that, they could just be told, "set up a stardock account, then contact the person you got it from and request that he transfer the licence to you." But I suppose there are other concerns that c
I still don't see, though, why you can't just make a simple way for the GCII registration to be transferable from one account to another. This would not require you to spend a lot of time and money, aside from adding the initial feature, and you'd still be supporting only the copies that you had already made money off of previously. If you don't do so, it doesn't effect me. I would not want to sell my copy anyway, but still, trying to prevent the reselling of software beyond actual so
On the tactical games note, there is Jagged Alliance 2. It's old and hard to find these days--and pretty tough to play as well, but on one of the best tactical turn-based combat games ever.
Super Necromancers seems WAY overpowered though. Anyway, the idea behind Super Repulsive is that the race looks so horrifying that no one can stand to see them. In diplomacy, you know you can ask other races for things? If your race has this trait, then they are much more likely to give you whatever you want, just to get rid of you. After this, though, the ambassador will always become unavailable, so you'd better be careful what you ask for, because you won't get another chance for
I have been thinking about this for a while, and in fact have a text document that I've been using to accumulate ideas. I still have more to add, but here's what I have so far. A few are similar to idea already mentions, but not many. I agree as well that they should not be able to be duplicated by spending points. 1. Super Researcher--Every 5 population on a planet produces an extra point of research, cost free 2. Super Agrarian--Farms are 20% more effective and have a 10%
Why is slower better on bigger maps? Wouldn't faster be better? So you can get to exploring quicker, and not way way slower? It seems already slow enough as it is to me. Let's put it this way, I've been playing a game on huge, and by the time I got into my very first war, I was already my further than halfway through with most of the tech lines. I never got a change to actually use most of the lower techs, and the techs will be all researched long befor
They can surround another person's city, but that results in that city immediately flipping sides. The city cannot actually sit inside another's territory like the planets can in GCII.
Honestly, most copies of this game on Ebay are going to be used and probably already registered, and therefore useless if you want to download updates. Not a good idea to buy GCII used or on Ebay.
