If I wanted to change icon text and highlight color, could I do that without using Microangelo? Is it possible to do it using IconPackager, Windows Blinds, or some way that's native to the Windows 2000 OS? Thanks.

When I was running Microangelo with Windows Blinds, the icon labels were displaying erratically. Some had a transparent background, others had a colored background, and still others had a colored background of a DIFFERENT color. If I brought up another window over the desktop, then minimized it, the desktop icons appeared normally again. I did discover a major incompatibility problem last night with Windows Blinds and PowerTools (an AOL add-on). They really don't play well together.

I'm very new to skinning, so please bear with me... So far, I've sampled DesktopX, Icon Packager, Windows Blinds, and Object Desktop. LiteStep looks very interesting too, but I haven't tried that yet. Before I discovered the wonderful world of skinning, I was running Microangelo to give my desktop icons a transparent label. Windows Blinds Doesn't Load Desktop Background in WinCustomize Talk WinCustomize Forums

OK, what am I doing wrong? I'm trying to use Layne Karkuff's fantastic skins, but Windows Blinds isn't applying the desktop background. Worse, when I download the skins, I'm not given the option to put the files where I like, nor am I told where the files are going, so I have no idea where to look and can't apply the background manually. Anyone have any hints for this WB newbie? Thanks in advance. Four Winds
