Zubaz - I am using xp. I don't seem to have the folders/files you've mentioned. No idea why, but seeing as I've been running xp on this pc for years I suppose I could have lost them somehow at any point. But thanks anyway Xiandi - that's great, nice and simple and works. never realised you could do that ! Only prob now is I've organised my desktop and all my files and cant think of any more

Thanks for the reply I had tried dragging "search" from the start menu and then dragging the desktop shortcut that creates, to the dock bar. That then works from the dock but not once I delete the desktop shortcut - for some reason the dock entry points to the shortcut not the shortcut's target, even though I've set the general option to point to target rather than shortcut and has worked fine on other entries where I've dragged desktop shortcuts from the desktop to the dock and then d
Apologies first of all as I'm sure this is a naive question, but : I've just got objectdock plus. I want to add an entry for "search" replicating the search command I get when right-clicking start in windows xp. I see there's a search docklet bundled but that is for msn internet search. I've tried finding where on my pc the search command or exe is to direct a new entry in objectdock to that command but I cant seem to find it despite (ironically) searching everywhere. Can any
