I find the price of starbases to be just about right. Low enough that they see use in every game, but high enough that it really hurts if one gets destroyed. One thing I have noticed with my current Vasari strategy against the AI (move in fleet to distact, and build a starbase in the enemy well while they are distracted) is that I use much smaller fleets than before. If nothing else, the starbases give me enough peace of mind that my planets will be defended that I don't turtle until I have m
The only suggestion I could make would be to have the TEC/Advent Starbases act more like structures and less like the Vasari Starbase/Ship.
I would guess they are contained in the same general 'Starbase' class in the coding, but with a movement speed set to 0... But just remember, it isn't sideways. There is no up or down in space, so while it is not oriented with the game's arbitrarily decided 'up' plane, it isn't really sideways. Tec
After loading the savegame, the game had another minidump. This one also occured when I tried building a starbase, just as it went from migrator to star base under construction. The starbase was not under attack at the time, so that causing it is ruled out. Perhaps some sort of limit on starbases which if exceeded causes a crash? Going to try again under various conditions. Edit: After loading the savegame again, it seems to be able to build starbases just fine if no enemies are in th
After playing for around 3 hours today (SoaSE scares me in how it eats time...) I noticed a few bugs. I was playing as Vasari. The first thing I noticed was the commonly reported one at least 2 separate occasions, star bases started attacking while they were still under contruction. These both occured when building them around my planets, and building them at a time such that I would lose the planet before they completed building. This bug saved one of the two planets it occured on. The

When you have a full 16 capship fleet. All at level 10. And a maximum size fleet. After you modded the maximum size to 100,000 fleet capacity.
I agree with Capn, if there are player created artifacts they should die with the hero, but world artifacts should remain in play.

The capital ships on the TEC side are, IMO, not as fun/good as Vasari and Advent, which is why I prefer to play Vasari or Advent, but not TEC. Probably my earliest SoaSE strategy was to build only capships until I got all 16. Sure, their combined DPS was small, but their survivability was unmatched... The trick is to have a good combination of DPS from frigates and survivability from capships and in the case of TEC, hoshiko repairs.
I personally like capships more than any other ships. They are powerful and don't require being replaced to often, if ever. Multiple high level capships can and will turn the tide of battles. On another note, off topic forums are on all Stardock sites, and so someone from Galciv II or Windows Blinds might not know what you are talking about. So for more specific questions on a game related topic, the game's general forum is the best place to post.

Interesting... While looking for news on L4D updates, I found a link to an old article about TF2 DLC. Valve intended to make it free for all users (PC and XBOX), but M$ forced them to charge for it on Xbox, since M$ gets a cut of stuff distributed on XBL.

If they could add as much detail as The Game from Stargate Atlantis, that would be nice... Hopefully they have the time to implement details such as this to Elemental. And even if they do not, mods will probably add much of it. RP elements which have no impact on the game, such as names, physical appearance, ect, should be added and will enhance the immersion if done properly.
