Ive been watching carefully the battles in Sw EaW What ive noticed is that upon engagement , a ship moves from a max_range to a slightly closer min_range , so fires and moves towards its target. Once it reaches the min_range value it will stop dead to fire but the movement from max to min is very slow.. This is offcourse is disabled vs defences. It only moves slowly towards the target but the effect is very good and because ships are facing all sorts of directions , will give t
Because micro sucks?
Micro isnt some tabooed bad thing for RTS games . Theres various qualities of microing Good RTS have good quality micro , Shit RTS have shit quality micro. Quantity of micro is dependant on the type of game. Sins is large scale game so quantity should be minimal at best , BUT that minimum must be Good quality. Starcraft has hugh quantity and its also good quality. Vanilla supcom had a hugh quantity but it was shit quality (fabgens micro , Ra
Micro-ing your ships and abilities still gives you an advantage over non micro players.
Yea, Special-ability micro is an advantageous micro type and that make me wonder why Ironclad chose to remove ship-movement and the advantageous micros it brings plus the 100% aim , because it sacrifices cinematic aesthetics at the same time.

Basically this is why... People micro if they think that micro can give them an advantage in a battle Ships that move in combat like in Homeworld give rise to advantages if people micro Making ships static and have 100% aim makes it harder to gain an advantage through micro. Less inclination to micro in Sins I love micro , but you have to take into the account the size and scale of Sins compared to Homeworld. Love micro or hate micro , its just n

lol , great job. reminds me of the time i did "the movies" sins fan movies , during the pre-beta Part 1 sypnosis was.. The captain of a Marza BattleCruiser discovers a planet thats emanating strange energy signals. The chief scientist discovers that the energy signals matched the same energy signals of a barbaric race they had thought extinct after a purge 10000 years ago. The captain and his crew beam down to investidate only to find themselves face to face with an Ad

Heres some ideas... This one is for Siege Caps I think - Level 6 Viral Pods - for planetary bombardment. High cooldown , high antimatter cost for balance .Viral Pods wipe out 50% of the population on the enemy planet instantly (whatever the total) , but leaves infrastructure intact. The idea is that this special ability is great for damaging enemy income , but doesnt effect planetary health. Asteroid infection - After an enemy mining station has been destroyed l

RTS players , or atleast hardcore ones dont care about graphics much , only the micro and tactics and interface. This is why so many people still play Starcraft even tho theres tons of games with better graphics. And anyway immersion has little to do with graphics. A book can be immersive. Its all about the creation of a universe and that factor which i cant explain that wraps you in the world. Even games like civ 1 had me beleiving i was a ruler.
Spartan, from what I recall beta testers are "automatically" upgraded! Only if you ordered the boxed copy. They'll be sending instructions on how to upgrade to the CE to us digital downloaders closer to release.
this is my situation . ive dig downloaded but i didnt know a

great stuff!
Step Four: Revel in your Victory:
What have you guys done about the suggestion of discluding strikecraft from the bandboxing if other ships are selected? I mean just imagine in that picture of the fleet. You want to bandbox some of that fleet , but inside your bandbox you accidently select some of your strikecraft . You want it to automatically exclude them..
And how about this: instead of saying 'population infrastructure: level 1, 2, 3, etc.' the names could be a little more imaginative. Something like 'outpost - ... - coruscant style'. And instead of emergency infrastructure: level 12345 something like 'sandbags - bunkers - force fields - full blown underground cities' But then we loose all sorts of clarity -- which levels are which? What does that do? As things stand, its easy en

Actually its quite easy with my editor. Just load the program twice or three times. I sometimes do this when im designing with my editor. I have one draft version and proper version and do a star on each... then compile one , change its name . compile the other. then copy and paste . you might need to do some editing and its best to see how another multi-star system does it

Any idea now , is not too late for Mods or expansions. Infact many ideas that came out too late for Supreme Commanders Release ,have indirectly inspired features in Forged Alliance , its expansion pack.
