there lots of people working on mods like that try dsep's mod the bringers of the light it has almost acompletly new techtree I was quite impressed with it for it to be his first mod and besides modding is very easy there are dozens of guides found right here at stardock.You should find them most useful so come join us modders.
I have ive played all the space games atleast once I agree with you the ship design is a little better than galciv2 you can create any type of ship plus theres an expensin pack coming out soon the races would make a great mod for DA.
thats a glitch that you caint get around anytime you change the game youll find problems like that so youll just have to deal with it.

nope all of that is hardcoded if you can open Str files you can change the name but not what it does.

there is an aternative program unwrap3d actualy I find that its easier to use than max plus you can place textures on ships very easy the only flaw with it is I doint know if you can place hardpoints havient tried yet plus its very cheap for what it does only 49$ OR 59$ for the pro version.Trust me its worth it you can convert models from almost any format even raw and DDS and I search for months to find a 3d modeler that would do that cause max sure couldin't well thats all for now I hopes that

no its an ancient battle station but I soposes I can make it mobile plus ive decided to upgrade a mod I made a while ago its almost done there will be 7 custom ship styles almost completly new tech tree 4 new tradgoods 20 or more planetary improvements all new music all new event movies and alot of other changes you shouldint be dissapointed im trying to release two mods at the ame time this mod and my Dune conversion.

Thats easy go into the galciv2 libray and download a mod called tech edit its the easiest way to make your own techs without messing with the XML flie I hope this helps.
the mod itself is all dune I was just playing a custom race the thunder cats I based the mod on the books aswell as the movies and children of dune series.

you really need to post more screen shots of your mod otherwise people wiont try it I had to learn that the hardway.
also there is a dl version of the startrek mod.
why not try making battleship/submarines or aircraft carrier models for the type of mod your making it would be suited best you make the story of go like this after the invention of hyperdrive all the superpowers all decided to modify there navy fleets to be suited for space travel since deepsea travel is close to space travel they already have a fleet of ships.so it would be easier than making ships from scratch.
heres how you do it go into your stardock folder and if your playing DA youll need to create a folder that says mods.The easy way to to do is copy your dreadlord mod to your DA folder and place all mods in the folder that says default that should be it if your using DL just place the mods in the default folder.
Does anyone ealse has this problem with rad tools because my videos wiont play all the way.Lets say I bink a 30mb file it will bink all the way 28mb but only 10 seconds of it will play is there a problem with my computer or am I out of ram I only have 650mb of ram or is there a problem with rad tools.So can someone please help me fix this problem.

yes you are but thats not a bad thing it could be alot worst trust me ive seen worst but steelmeister ill be glad to help I can make all the event movies or music can convert models now but still learning how to make them from scratch im very good at modding the game thats easy I mod the game more than I play it.I doint own SMAC anymore now I wish that I kept it wasint to long ago I gave it away.
