well i believe that most of you who have skinned alot in the past might feel more comfortable in SKS 5 and are set in your ways, Alas for a new user SKS 6 is easier to understand and learn in. Where SKS 5 gives you too much info and tabs and buttons and a tree and loads of stuff you don't understand until you have made your first skin, i like SKS6 for the most part it isn't finished its in beta still even if they say its finished they aren't helping themselves by implementing stuff that does

Well good luck.. tried just so see how i felt without cigarettes here the other day went 20 hours without a cigarette ..hehe was like walking on clouds and high on some stimulant quite funny actually then smokes a cigarette not for the craving had them in my pocket for a while... and came back to earth :) still i might quit later in life.. but for now i just like smoking a lot and the smell of tobacco ..ahhh the smell always loved it even i clothes.. so next year is year 11 of tobacco heaven.. b

Well this is driving me crazy even if the code is right saving the skin in SKS 6 messes things up again. Anyway... heres a mini tutorial for anyone having the same problem as me :) Hopefully it will get fixed in the next release of SKS 6. Solution dont touch any of the shutdown/logoff parts in SKS6 do this last (if you are using SKS 6 as main editor) in SKS 5 and finalize your skin. You need all in all 4 images 2 for the regular backgrounds and 2 for the per pixel ones. And it

Help! Anyone here? :) Well using SKS 5 and following the above tips i now have pp log/shut dialogs.. problem is the blue standard.bmp show thru at button corners and log off icons..(only at the logoff dialog, the shutdown show the right background the bmp version looking the same as the pp one) also is there a way to turn of the dimming of the screen i get that frame around my logoff dialog.. since its smaller than standard. I have searched but couldn't find a good answer.. als

Had to make it 32x32 and put the pic to the left center for it to show!... weird, what variables does it take its margins and position from anyone know and want to share? Because in my last skin i made it 16x16 and it was just fine...

Question my newly made 16x16 go button wont show when i apply the skin.. saved as png transparent background.. converts to tga by sks6 as known.. named bearpawtoolbarGO.png (*.tga) same with mouseover.. it just shows a blank button in explorer. tried smaller and larger sizes its a "no go" sorta speak. ideas?

Question for windowblinds do you have to skin shellstyle icons music/film/pics? and controlpanel icon? And if you do.. what size are they and how can i make them any good tips tricks plz ;) Also the startmenu more programs popup looks better without a background does it have to be skinned?

I would suggest GimpShop only other app other than Photoshop i would recommend... That is speaking from my own experience BUT i have not tried paint.net.. Looked over at paints.net's site looking to features it sure looks promising :) Either way Gimp or Paint.net (Free and powerful apps that) I think it will be all good, it's first when you get somewhat familiar with the app the magic start's to happen ;) GL! i dont think you can go wrong here either way :)
