Is there a way to reset the activation threshold automatically? I use multiple drives C-D-E-F and I install WindowBlinds independantly on each drive. And I format very often as I just cant keep up with the spyware/antispyware cold war, every couple of months or so. I've already purchased WindowBlinds three times and have only ever used it on this single computer and with this single IP address. I want to format again (but I dont know how many activations I have left) and my wife will kill me if

For your Task panel problem, maybe at some time by mistake it was set to always use a skin that has no shellstyle, or a skin you've since deleted - check where it says "Check Here" "task panel does not show - only the icons do" - For this check Folder Options and check

The old icons that you are seeing are what is stuck in the Windows icon cache. Two solutions -1. (toolbar icons) right click on toolbar to customize, change icon size from small to large and back again. 2.(desktop and startmenu icons) Use Tweak UI to refresh icon cache. mitche323

Sorry about you not feeling well John, hope all is better soon. AOL uses the same internet settings in Internet Properties that IE does so adding the site to 'Trusted Sites' may still be a good fix for you. Like I said the change for me was instant and impressive so I hope it works for you. Dont forget to UNcheck that box I mentioned - it's checked by default. For AOL you may have to clear your internet options cache also. Also for everybody, we all know that the site is a heavy graphic

All of the Office icons trace to a folder that is kind of tricky. The icons for all of the Office files are located in the C:\Windows\Installer folder. This is a 'hidden' folder so you may have to unhide folders in Folder Options. But anyway, Office continuously 'renews' itself - and either will not let you change the icon (usually it is greyed out) or it changes the icon back once you have changed it. But you will not use these anyway. Here is the work-around for all of your office ico

What I would request as far as icons is a little more generic. I use Icon Packager, but that program can not change all of the XP icons. Specifically I am referring to Control Panel icons and also the little tiny icons in the task area on the left pane in an open window. I use a program called Resource Hacker and manually change the Control Panel icons in their individual '.cpl' files. I also change most of the icons in shell32.dll I realize that changing these icons is not something th

Hello John, I too had that same very problem for a long time. I use Internet Explorer and added https://www.wincustomize.com to 'Trusted Sites' in Internet Properties. Don't forget to uncheck 'Require server verification'. The change was instant and the pages all load like the rest of the web now. I don't know the individual culprit within the settings but since I trusted wincustomize, I didn't care. Good luck, mitche323

Good to see you are good Phoon, seems you've had that one for a while now. Just for the heck of it I re-clicked that box and of course the white comes back. So in the 'viennaxpstuff.xp' file there is a setting for [StartPanel.MenuItem]. Within that list are the menu animations that vStyler created. I temporarily removed the loop and mouseover settings and reloaded the theme and all was good even with the windows box checked. I then reset the Vienna theme as it was designed and unclicked that box

Hello all, I've been able to remove that white border like this; Right click My Computer and click properties on the bottom of the menu. That will take you to System Properties - Go to the Advanced Tab and to 'Performance Settings' - This will show the 'Visual Effects' tab. The second item is 'fade or slide menus into view'. UNcheck that one should make you all good. At least it worked here. I am not sure but I think this is caused by when a skin has an annimated menu or menu h

(all good suggestions...but as pictoratus pointed out...other progs delete fonts that were previously in use no problem. the issue isnt even just about the skinner...the end user cant be expected to jump thru all these hoops for a simple skin update.) Well, in the first post two differant problems were raised. One is providing a finished product for the end-user - this is clearly windowblinds responsibility. The other was more of a on-the-fly type back and for

I'll give Stardock something constructive to work on. As it stands right now the name of the skin folder and the uis file contained within have to match exactly for the skin to work. So the "vienna" folder has vienna.uis inside. Why? Why cant the name of the skin match the folder and windowblinds searches for "any" uis file inside? So now an update could simply be renamed Vienna2 and reside in a folder named Vienna2 but the artist would not have to manualy rename every

I agree! but unlocking a file is very elementary as far as computers go and stardock should be able to very easily add the code to its program. look, the guy that invented "Unlocker" gives it away for free for geez sakes and.........he has been giving it away for about ten years now!!!!!!!!!! when I first got windowblinds, it just about ruined my computer over this very issue, I was ready to sue everybody lol - the black screens on reboot, the deformed skins - i

One other note that you might like, if you are having fonts stuck literally for months - you probably have other things stuck also that you are not aware of. Once every month or two, go into Control panel- system - advanced - performace settings, advanced - virtual memory. Check "no paging file" and then hit "SET" - reboot and do a defrag - then set the memory back to whatever it was under custom size, no reboot needed this time. Of course I assume that if it's "Knot Vista" , you've go

Hello IR Brainiac and vStyler - got the answer for all of you - get KnotVista, never will need to change a skin font again. Seriously, what is needed is for more of a meeting of the minds between those educated in skinning and those educated in computers. I started using unlocker the first time a font stuck on me, because I knew about unlocker. I liked "SystemForceJapan" icons so much, I made them my default icons, by using a program to place each icon into shell32.dll. Now I c
