Computer Security 101: Shit gets fixed faster if you make it public.
Same problem. It used to work fine. Now it's broken.
Before this latest patch, I could usually connect to a Pantheon game within 5 minutes. Now I cannot connect at all. I've spent 2 hours trying. I've given up. Is there anyone else having the same problem?
The big numbers become a small number.
Same here. It's ludicrous.
Yes, a banlist is much needed. Got the same idiot 3 times in a row.
I disagree about the 4 minute priests being a disadvantage. Their heals are really useful early game, healing about as much as a potion. Can turn things around for you in a tight spot. They also allow for early pushes against towers, giving you the tactical advantage because the enemy no longer has the cover of their tower to retreat to when fighting with you over a flag in the middle.
Indeed. Putting AI in the Pantheon where the AI is obviously not up to the tast is just stupid. Then again, maybe they're just doing it to compensate for their shitty networking, where 3v3 Human pantheon matches are virtually unheard of, since someone always drops and fucks it up for everyone.
AI is too stupid. Lost a game with 21 - 3 (my k/d ratio) (fortresses game mode) because one of our players was AI (3v3). It just feeds em too much. I'm at the point where I just leave a game if AI takes over for one of my teammates.
Yep. Happens with me every game in UB. People who should be dead surviving. Not cool.
lol argue against DRM all you want, but like it or not it's a necessary evil...
It's not an exploit. It's a legit strategy. It has a distinct downside as well. What happens when Sedna dies? All the buying selling will make her lose significant amounts of gold that could otherwise be spent on armor/potions whatnot. Leave it as it is. If people start overabusing it effective strategies to counter will be developed and become commmon as well.
Seconded. Also, if an entire enemy team wins why do I have to keep playing against bots? I'd play Skirmish if I wanted that, and I can't win or I get a penalty.
Would love to see how this works out late game for you when high DPS heroes eat your hero alive, since you have nothing on you but idols.
It is. Particularly in the PC game arena the protections have vastly improved. As for the headaches you mention, I've never had them. But that's just me I guess.

Terrible advice. It reverses the usual effect piracy has - spreading word of mouth and increasing interest in the game. Your potential customers are going to talk to other gamers online, asking for opinions etc and they'll respond "This game is crap, it crashes all the time,
Both of which can be found through... dun dun dun... pirate sites and torrents.
Depends on how you implement your updates. You can make it a minor pain to patch a pirated game while at the same time making sure the legit users get the benefits of the update before the pirates do. That is why you force the user to create an account and tie the CD key to it before he can get an update or DLC.
Interesting. I clicked on this thread expecting a legal debate on whether or not space should be free. For example, who and how may lay a sovereign claim upon a stretch of space? What gives him the right to do so? How can it be enforced? It would be an interesting discussion.
I've worked with a publisher before on the matter of taking down sites that host pirated versions of our product. Soon as you take a site down another will pop up. The only way to effectively fight piracy is to make sure the legitimate product will far outshine the pirated product. There are several ways to do this, amongst them: Secret checks in a game to see if it is pirated. If it is, corrupt save, config files, limit resolution, crash game etc... Online multiplayer accessi
Post was spot on. +1 :)
Thanks Trig, that fixed it :) Thank you too Wagnard, for the file.
After replacing my old DLL with this one in the bin directory of Demigod I cannot join a single game. When I does NAT traversal it shows my name in red, and say NAT traversal failed. I cannot press the cancel button because the dialog just pops up again (UI glitch). So I have to CTRL ALT DEL out of demigod. Can anyone please post the old ImpulseReactor.dll so that I can play Demigod without having to download the entire game again? Thanks.
