I agree, more ship movement would make the combat more interesting to watch. If weapon movement from firing unit to target is more than a visual representation of weapon delay, it'd be interesting to be able move frigates in front of enemy fire to reduce damage to capital ships too.

If i had my dithers, ships in the vicinity of stars would take damage if their shields went down. Antimatter harvester ships would be nifty too. Bonus if they let me throw micropackets of star plasma at enemy ships.

Tweaked the Kol to deliver all of it's autocannon damage through the sides, and extended the burst duration, and noticed the AI compensating by establishing better angles to target multiple craft with it's now superior broadside firepower / front lasers.. I did a little snooping and it appears the different stars have room for extra abilities. Could it be possible to make a gravity effect be one of these abilities? Right now, it seems clear that control of stars will be control of systems, and fighting off major pushes from enemy fleets will take place in solar gravity wells.
