I've been having this problem for some time now as well. It was fine for a while, but started acting up when the 1.04 beta came out and now nothing I can do seems to have any real effect (I've tried everything here and more, including reinstalling older versions, which didn't work). The exact symptoms seem to change almost daily. Sometimes disconnecting, sometimes just stalling and lagging really bad, today it started stalling and then performing all m

This means that while someone could infect a system with a virus, it's damage would be very limited, unlike Windows. Well, if a virus infects a Windows machine under a limited user account, then the effect would be the same.. it would really only affect that profile and not the whole system (unless it used a priv
I agree with XtremeOne, NOD32 is awesome, and it kind of understates things to call it an alternative to Norton. Not only is it very fast, but also has the best heuristics, so it catches a lot without always needing signatures. Ewido (http://www.ewido.net/) and Prevx1 (http://www.prevx.com/) too. They all do different things, I use all three (although you can just use the freeware version of Ewido for manual scans). <a href="
Avast and AVG don't have that great of detection rates - http://www.av-comparatives.org I personally like NOD32, light and fast with very good detection rates. The heuristics are also the best of any (see the retroactive tests at the link above, they test new malware with old signatures, so all detections are purely heuristic or use generic signatures). Then I like Ewido for backup scans (http://www.ewido.net/ - trial turns to free version after 1
Try that before responding like a punk That's nice, very encouraging. I've had a few issues I've been dying to get answers to but can't get a peep out of support (even after having devoting many hours beta testing, which other companies pay me for, or at least give some kind of token of appreciation for having de

I miss my windowfx What I noticed here is that it only does this when you have windows set to "fade in" - change the animation to anything else (I use
I'm using the 6/03 version of FX with WB5 and it's running great. When I started with this version I was "glad all over" it cleared all the problems up that I was having with the earlier versions and uses almost no resources. Unlike the previous version that put my AMD 3400+ /2gigs Corsair/ and 6800 GT to a test, worked but a res
