That fixed it. Activated successfully. Thank you very much. GC2 works very nice on Samsung Tablet PC XE700T. No tweaking needed on the graphics side, runs very smoothly. Thanks again. [e digicons][/e]

Hi, I bought second copy of GC2 Ultimate on steam this time, and activated it fine on my main desk PC, but I'm having trouble doing the same on my tablet with Windows 8 x64. The Stardock Account Registration window pops up, I put in my account details, serial number from steam, click register, and... nothing happens. I tried maybe 100 times, also in compatibility mode, as administrator, run manually, etc, to no avail. There's no error displayed, after clicking Register. I can
If it's already installed, you should be able to just browse to it and run the exe directly. The GameStop app restricts launching on OSes not on the supported list (Win8 is not because it is not yet released).
Hi, many thanks for the reply, I'll try that.
Hi, I tried to run GC2 on Windows 8 Release Preview, and it says incompatible operating system. Any way to get it to work ? Also, will Steam version work on Windows 8? I tried compatibility mode to Windows 7 already, but it's the GameStop App that doesn't let me launch it. Cheers
I have a problem, one of the planets sitting in a sector under the influence of one of my allies has rebelled, even though it had 100% approval rating. I think this is a bug. Also, I've noticed that I can't breake alliance with one of the races (IR), dunno why, but this kind of action is not available in treaties. Cheers
Have you tried running the game with adminstrator rights for the first time yet. Win 7 is nice OS but it still has the crappy UAC when you install a game into the program files and the game loads up for the first time and changes files. With UAC on for win 7 or vista this stops games from doing this. Hence the reason you have to run them the first time with Adminstatrator rights.
That is one crappy response. UAC in Win7 is not c
If it's debugging, then after that you'll have all the testing, researching and debugging phase again. I think something is going wrong with the project and someone is afraid to admit it. Before current debugging phase, public beta would definitely help to make a proper bug list, otherwise we'll see more and more debugging only. If you can't fix the same problem for months, don't try so hard. Changing status only to "indicate" progress isn't the best thing to do. Cheers, and good luck
Hi, what I'd like to see is: Ability to give missions to other factions/players, pretty much the same way they ask me to do. Trading should require building of trade ships, not as it is at the moment, where all trade ships are coming from nowhere. When you build trade ship, give it a trade lane to cover. Buy/Sell technology, upgrades from/to other factions When you take over a planet with research structures untouched, you should be able to get som
It's a location recommended by Microsoft for storing Application related data files. It's per user and safe. It's also one of the requirements for "Designed for Windows" logo programme. My Games or Games located in My Documents or Documents folders are for Save files and user configuration only, and not for application data files. Mods are considered to be application data files, not user files. Hope that helps. Cheers
Starcrock today just announced the next in its series of expansions to Sins of a Solar Empire- "The Mini-dump strikes back", or also known as "Encrashment". Encrashment empowers the minidump as a new race and gives up completely trying to remove its pressence in the code and establishes it as a whole new race. Instead of raiding gravity wells, and nuking planets it just bombs the entire game. Talk about power. New capi
I'm not sure which version of .NET Framework is required for GF3 to work, but make sure that you have the latest service packs for .NET Framework 2.0 & 3.5 installed. I see that GF3 was built on 2008 version of Visual Studio (probably managed C++), therefore it'd be safe to assume that .NET Framework 3.5 is required. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=333325FD-AE52-4E35-B531-508D977D32A6&displaylang=en and http://www.microsoft.com/
Hi, Could you say a bit more please? - I assume it's regarding GalaxyForge 3 ? - What is your operating system, version, sp ? - Which version of the game ? Cheers

Grab WinMerge (it's a differencing tool), enable Moved block detection, Skip whitespace checks. Compare these two manifest files, and move missing lines from one to another. Cheers
i >= 0
If you're getting Assertion, it means that the expression evaluates to false, therefore "i" has to be less than zero (probably error, as -1 is often used by the devs to indicate error). Asserts are only available in Debug mode builds, or when explicitly enabled in Release mode. I'd say that you should look for entries with no values, maybe you've left some entry somewhere with no value assigned ? Just a guess :) Cheers PS> Re

Thanks for reply guys, Well, the question is why should that not be allowed? It turnes out to be another hardcoded and unmoddable part of the game. Cheers
Hi all, I'm new here, though not new in the modding area :P . I'm currently modding some of the ships from the original Sose 1.15, and I encountered a blocker. Maybe someone could help me with this, because I'm not sure if it's a feature, bug or just me :D . So, I was trying to implement CommandPoints system in Frigate type ships, and it doesn't work. As soon as I add anything related to command points system (e.g. StartValue, ValueIncreasePerLevel OR Level:0, Level:1,
The ignorance of that statement doesn't even deserve a response. Do you actually believe that Apple is the only company that puts out a quality product? Machine stability in a small controlled set of hardware and software, should not be confused with quality. "Mac" users and the company itself ("I'm a Mac and I'm a PC") take great pride in the fact that they are somehow better than a PC. When for all intents and purposes they are one. The term "PC" has its roots in "IBM compatibl
All I can say, reading all these comments of poor people, trying to argue as much as they can against "Jobs", is that Apple is the only company, that for years took good care about the QUALITY of their products. I have nothing against SD, but ObjectDock is kinda crap as compared to Apples's dock. I could count hundreds of OD crashes, and not even one crash of Mac OS for years. Yes I'm also Mac OS User, but also heavy Windows user. So before everyone take dates into account, think about q
I have the same problem, with mouse cursor disappearing while playing Galciv2, and so far the only way to bring it back is to press escape, then Alt+Tab to WIN, and go back to game.
Damn, it's even worse. I've never seen so bad application design. After another hour, trying to download some initial stuff (for the first time only), SDC displayed a message stating that the information can't be downloaded (check your connectivity to the internet DD). Crap... I couldn't believe it!!! Anyway, SDC started - finally, and now it's just unresponsive. Every single piece of this software is cra
Hi, I have the same problem. GalCiv2.com is so slow that I spent hours on just buying the product. Stardock Central is a total crap, I can't download anything, because it is trying to download something for the first time only. Why the **** I had to download 10MB SDC, if I have to download additional shit anyway? btw. it took me about one hour to download SDC, with avg. 2KB/s. I've fast 6Mbit adsl connection, and average speed 300kB/s for 99% of download sites. Stardock? it is time to
