This is very troubling. On one hand you have the steady support of the developers changing the game to make it seem more playable for the veterans, but it seems to leave newer players in the dark as to how just about anything works. I love the support, but when do you cross the line? Purge says: "Am I better off using singletons or fleets in these circumstances?" To me that should sort of be a no-brainer. For the first time ever I actually started out a game near the corner of the map with a PQ 25 planet closest to me. So far I am yet to see any resources near me though. It seems like Stardock did a pretty good job of balancing out these types of maps.

Hello all, have been a lurker for quite some time. I too finally purchased the gold edition just a few days ago and I must say I am impressed. So far the game is living up to it's nicely established reputation. I have pretty much played these types of games since Civ 2 came out long ago, and this one is right there at the top of the list.
