The only way I know to have a custom background for a directory is by editing the relevant desktop.ini file. Browse to the folder you wish to customize, and edit the desktop.ini file, which is hidden by default. Add: [{BE098140-A513-11D0-A3A4-00C04FD706EC}] IconArea_Image=E:\My Documents\My Pictures\MyCustomBG.jpg for example. More info at PCWorld: http://www.pcworld.com/howto/article/0,aid,105860

I am all for the idea of making new skinners welcome and invited. Probably the biggest thing that keeps me visiting WC everyday is the community. But this community exists and thrives because of the tools and rules of the site: forums, comments on submissions, ratings, access levels, and so on. With the last couple versions of ObjectDock, docks using foregrounds no longer behave as they did in previous versions. Foregrounds used to stretch and scale in a manner similar to the background image. You might try excluding Steam.exe and hl2.exe in Windowblinds Configurations -> Settings -> Per Application. If that does not work, try finding your Steam.exe file (and maybe hl2.exe also, again). Right click, select the Compatability tab, then check Disable Visual Themes. I run Counter Strike: SOurce along side WIndowblinds with no problem, so the above suggestions may not help. Those are very good points, particularly the watering down of brand recognition. I know I've been guilty of wishing Microsoft would include more customization "native" to the OS. The thing is, with Vista, the new technology practically demands some native customization capability. I do not understand this "screenshot views as downloads" complaint. As far as I can tell screenshots work like this: 1)There is supposed to be a "preview image" but people always use the full image because 2)When people look at screenshots they click on the thumbnail image, not the "Download" button because who wants to download a screenshot? 3)When a preview image is looked at full size, I consider that a "view", but it does not
