The original CD-installed version of the game (v. 1.0) is compatible with Win7x64, although it stretches its native 4:3 viewing ratio to fit a widescreen monitor.

Go to My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2, open the file prefs.ini, and make the following changes... Thanks, Kyro. Your advice did just the trick for me. The game now loads perfectly, and is a lot prettier to look at to boot!
