Maybe player ratings can be based off favour? Like an average earned per game. Favour is a pretty good way of determining a players contribution to the game. I have lost games with the highest favour score. I think win/loss ratio is a hard one to judge in this game, the game depends on having a really good team, especially in 3v3+. I am not a good player yet, but I struggle to see how one player can really carry a team in this game. Three mediocre players will beat a go

hah I deleted my post too late..... i gave up on this argument, cant be bothered to have an internetz argument over a possible one in a million chance game that someone might actually play if the connection server allows them to all get into the lobby :p

If the other team is all Reg, then simply take Blood of the Fallen and Banded Armour at the start, even if you got hit by 5 snipes in a row you would still be alive. 300 or so times 5 at level 1 = 1500 DMG, you would still have 700 left or so. They got a 30 second time before they can launch another strike. Assuming they can level high enough to 10 without being pushed back, that is 3500 dmg a strike. You should be able to negate that with higher

Hah, they might demand an explanation of your shoddy network connection? :p What router are you using and have you forwarded ports? Do you have any firewall software? Have you tried using the proxy servers?

I used to think this, most people don't use armour. If Reg is going for Ashkandor as most Regs will, then stack up your armour. You can get that damage down to about 200 instead of 400 and take 800 crits instead of up to 1600+. The plus side to this is that you then have a lot of HP as well. Also if Reg is on a losing side and you have let him save up 18K, then they weren't really losing. You should have easily that amount of money and should be ready for it. I have be

I have been playing with Ooze now and it is an awesome skill. I like using Post Mortem early too, especially if they take priests. It works really well waiting for a DG in a lane with a creep incoming. The post mortem takes out their creep wave and a chunk of health with it. Your creep wave is still intact and will be wailing on the DG, that damage can make a difference. Of course it depends on the DG, if they are an AOE DG, then it doesn't help t

Thats some awesome ideas there, please delete this thread :) I have been looking at my strats, the more I play, the more I realise, that the standard Swift anklet, Vlemish Helm, Boots of Speed way is really poor. Another tip I picked up is that with the reflective damage armour and plague you can cause even more havoc, as the reflective armour triggers the plague effect, combined with Ooze it could be really nasty. Shame I won't get to try this out until next we
but ive got now 2 desyncs
Yeah I noticed that too. I had one game before where a player left and after that I kept getting desync messages off another player. Maybe it is something to do with the routing? It was at the end of a game so no big deal. np Boogiebac :) I work for a smallish software company too, it can get a little depressing sometimes when people are only complaining :) It is nice to get some positive feedback t
1) it's not appropriate to compare favour items to more expensive item's like journeyman's or HoL. These higher end items are not accessible in the early game, and this is the part of the game where favour items are most significant. 2) when there is no equivalent item (as with symbol of purity) it is not appropriate to give a gold cost, since situationally the item may be invaluable since it has no equivalent. 3) you cannot compare stats directly in many cases b

To make some summary on this, it basically looks like Swift Anklet is the item of choice in most cases. Amulet of teleportation comes close second and should be determined by map size. Magical Coin Pouch may also be worthwhile in a long game. Overall, most items are fairly weak compared to these big three. Most of the assassin Favour items seem to be reasonably well balanced and helpful. The general items are woefully underpowered, often offering poor base stat

I have looked at the Favour items and decided I would try to do some analysis and instead of giving them the Favour values, I tried to convert them to what the cost in gold was. Although, not entirely scientific, I cross referenced the stats to the item shop/cit prices and tried to award the favour item what it's gold value would be. Obviously, there are no precise matches for a lot of the item. So I generally took the core stats and match them first to get a base value, then adjust up or dow

Well tried out the new patch this morning and it looks like the connection lobby is finally up to a decent standard. Joining lobbies is fast and generally painless, the only problems I have encountered so far are people who still haven't set up port forwarding. Nice one Stardock, it finally looks like it is on track :) Not perfect yet, but definately a huge improvement over the last couple of weeks. Enjoy the weekend in Stardock HQ :)

I reckon we can pretty much guarantee that Spit is going to be the next cry for nerf. Been playing as UB and it is a great skill, loving it! You get one in at the start and then as they run let them have another dose :) I fricken hate it when I am trying running away and that spit is slowly knocking my health off....... lol There again people could start using pots more :) The only thing better is play

The pantheon argument may be less important at the moment, however, in the future it should be the main mode played. If the matchmaking wasn't so fubarred, then a lot more people would be playing it. Especially if they start handing out titles etc. If it got to the point like Supcom where you could have icons against your name and only those icons/medals could be gained through Pantheon, then that mode would become king.

I use the resell option. You lose a little gold and a little time. and if you want to make them worthwhile you need to keep a close eye on them. I don't stack up idols, but I will buy an idol, summon, resell it and then buy an item. Besides from about level 10 onwards their worth is greatly diminished, they will usually die in the first skirmish. If they removed the resell option, they need to seriously buff them. General DGs are only really played as A

I don't think it is a very good idea. I would rather see Dev time spent on more interesting game modes : Capture the Flag Hold the Artifact Free For All King of the Hill Things like that. There may be a small percentage of the gaming community who would benefit from this, but I think people would prefer just having arranged teams in Pantheon and stuff.

The funny thing is that it happens to the Sedna who is casting it. Very annoying bug IMO. Enough so that I try not to use the skill too much when playing as Sedna, which is doubly annoying.
Hmm, if somebody leaves the game early, they can potentially take out other relayed players with them as well. 'Ragequitting' will become even more of an issue.
Once one person rage quits the game is most likely over anyway. Solution looks good on paper, however will there be any overhead on CPU from the server clients? Just thinking that maybe if the volunteer host has a low SIM Speed, with the extra relay work it may send their computer into m

Sigh bad patch for me......... looks the lobby is completely fubarred. I have to say that this was a pretty bad decision, I know you guys are working hard, but rushing out a patch that makes it essentially worse for a lot of players is not great. I would rather see the beta situation, where you have a split test area so that you can put things out and people can test them. With all the hours you guys have put it, it will obviously affect the quality of work. It is real

The guys got a point, if he is holding a lane, then lay mines on those creeps. Thats one of the points of the skill. AOE damage for fast levelling. The wave is cleared and you can push with your wave onto a tower. If a DG comes back off and wait for mines to refresh, you have already taken out the wave so you have full xp and gold. Running in to lay mines on 2-3DGs as Reg is pretty dam stupid, unless you have backup, even a hint of focus fire will get you creamed. Also

BTW The Pantheon update is great with loads of stats on custom games!! :) The only downside seems to be that discos are counted as losses :( Shows me playing 2 games today, and that I lost 1. I had to disco from this game as one guy had 800 ping, then he dropped out and the rest of us disco'd as playing with AI is pointless. Not that it matters too much, would be nice to see disco's coming up as a different stat rather than just win/loss. Although, it may be tha

We can see that Cataract is the favorite map of players by far. I think the problem with that quote, it is that it is the most played because there are only two 3v3 maps and 3v3 games are the norm at the mo. Both this map and Prison I find to be the most boring, but people play them because they are 3v3 centred. Leviathon and Exile are both far more interesting maps. I wouldn't say it was a favourite map nor is it the most interesting map :)
I "might" attack Reg or TB if the opportunity arrises, but I run from the rest; most my abilities are for team heal/buffs. I might play very different if I ever played 1v1s.
As Sedna I am usually pretty confident to go in against 2 DGs, especially if I have minions backing me up. Primarily just to hassle, better to keep 2 DGs busy in one lane and let my team mates hold the others. You really need to time it with a wave of creeps. Yeah you
Every lane will usually have either an ally (to steal your XP)
You are supposed to be working with your allies, not complaining they are stealing your XP. I played a 4v4 on Leviathon last night and our TB had the most kills. There is a reason he is ranged just like Regulus. If you expect you can go in and tank on a 5v5, then you are sorely mistaken.
