At first I thought seeing the health would be great, I guess we are too used to it from MMORPG. However, when playing Sedna, I find that it is not such a big deal. I guess part of a players skill is to monitor that. I definately, think that you should not be able to see any of your enemies items or information outside of numerical health value. The whole point of items is that your enemy cannot see them so they don't know if you are armour

I like playing with Minion builds. Yetis are not the best of the bunch, but they can be powerful, especially as Sedna has a lot of minion buffs. However, this build is really situational. I always play assasin first, get Heal (600Hp emergency), then either healing winds, Inner Grace and pounce (for interrupt). By then you should be able to see what your opponents are doing. If you then go minion build stick to minion skills, no more heal or pounce. Reg and UB an
Rank 1 in building HP is a pretty useful upgrade. This can make a big difference in the first 10 mins of a game. Gold is a definate. For me, the XP bonus at rank 2 is a definate. 1200 gold and 10% xp for the entire team, that gives you almost a level advantage by level 10. Don't get me started on Priest upgrade :p It is simply an annoying n00b trap. The rest are all a little meh, and situational, you only really see the power in the upgrades when
Watch the Reg animations. As soon as you see him reach into his pocket to pull out the mines, then simply move. You have two choices, you move back, then move a minion up or wait for a creep to take them out. You go offensive and move forward, hope that you don't have to retreat, or remember to stick to a side. Mines are really only dangerous, if you decide that you can just sit there and slug it out. If you know they are mines build, then keep moving around.</
Is there an explanation anywhere of how the ranking system actually works? I can see it is an ELO derivative, but I cannot figure out how it is actually working out the ranking. Normally ELO will compare your rating to your opponents then give you plus or minus depending on how far apart your rating is (based on the K modifier). In a game where you are facing multiple opponents, how is your rating compared? Does it add up all ratings on one side and take an average? Are
Yeah I get tired playing this game, well trying to find a game. I have spent at least 25% of time just waiting in lobbies, it is just soul destroying. I am a supporter of Stardock, but this lobby is really pushing the patience to the limit.
@Zechno Now you have written your Regulus slow guide, don't you think that anyone with HoL against this build would pretty much have wasted an item slot? How are they gonna get to use it, if they cannot run away from your ranged/slow build?
Play stability in 5v5 is a 'big issue'? I completely disagree. Most games are 3v3 (custom) or 2v2 (skirmish) and not just for stability reasons.
I play 3v3, because trying to get a 4v4 or 5v5 going takes a dam long time, the chances of lag and dropouts exponentially increase it feels like. Also, looking at the maps, there is 1 2v2 map and 2 3v3 maps, the rest are 4v4 and 5v5, I think we can see what size games this game is aimed at. Have
Reg is not OP. Snipe is not all that powerful as you scale up, the counter is to stack HP items and HP regen. There is a long cool down and you will regen by the time it refreshes. Also take HoL as mentioned. Mines are easily counterable. Buy totems of revelation, just drop them near flags, you can see the mines and walk around them. I rarely take damage off mines, if you are always ready for them (wait for animation) then move you will never get hit. Even if Reg gets
Although the HoL could use some tweaking, it is hardly the games biggest problem. * Connection issues * Being able to play stabily in 5v5 Are far bigger. I would even argue that Priests are a bigger issue. I have lost so many games due to n00b players buying the damn things as soon as you hit war rank 4. How a citadel "upgrade" = Team lose is beyond me. HoL has had little effect on the games I have played. Players hav
Well it sounds like the game was already lost. If they have enough power, that 2 of them can hold 3 of you off, then you were likely already outlevelled/out itemed. Losing those towers in cataract is pretty important as you are always then subject to portal ninjas and you cannot retreat down a side. The thing is to adjust, if you see them pushing your towers, then go for tower buffs in the cit. If they are pushing a lane, why aren't you pushing the other lane?<
The priests heal and attack. You are underestimating them.
Please go play 10 games, buy Priest "upgrade" as soon as it is available, see how many times you lose. BTW make sure this is not against AI's! :p Yes, they are useful, but they are way overvalued in terms of gold and xp. They provide minimal healing (even on my HP stacked UB). If they had the same staying power as even Monks it would be perhaps worth it. Howe
Lets Theorycraft: Because, you could be running with Hauberk of Life with +600 Hp and +10HP/sec rather than a Vlemish Faceguard, which you will need to cast Spit and Foul Grasp together. HP and +HP/sec is king in this game, it really is, and a full Ooze build lets you take advantage of that. Plus you lose 4 points for building up spit. At level 10, say you max both Spit and Ooze, you have 2 extra points. So that means either Inner Beast is behind, Diseased Claw
This really is a funny argument, at level 10 : Spit Pro : 165 DPS, Range Con : 950 Mana, Single Target, easily countered Ooze Pro : 140 DPS, No Mana cost, AoE, -40% Attack Debuff Con : Melee range, -50HP/s Spit cons can only be mitigated by item slotting for mana, is rubbish for creeps and multiple DG engagements. Ooze pays for itself through by freeing item slot due to no mana require
Given that most games in my experience dont reach level 20, it is kind of a moot point. Also, stat skills for assassins are very potent at the last level, end game is mostly about auto attack damage, damage from spells and skills is secondary. 12% + attack speed + 36 Dmg 690 + HP Coupled with the extra Mana and minor regen bonus, that is artifact level stat increases. However, I think the regens could be tweaked a bit, poss
Just like you can't move around the map mindlessly, you can't buy citadel upgrades mindlessly.
But this sentance makes no sense, in that this is a purchaseable upgrade. It is like having an item, which gives the other team XP and Gold and gives you +25 DMG only. It is unbalanced, making it outright worthless in the game. You can't compare buying an upgrade to being outplayed. The whole point is that this upgrade should benefit your team, that is t
It depends on the situation, but Ooze is less commonly useful than Spit is overall.
Gotta disagree there too. Ooze is far more efficient especially late game than Spit. UB is not a glass cannon in Ooze build, he is a highly potent, if not the best melee fighter in the game.
Rook, Torchbearer, Regulus, or Queen of Thorns you are not well advised to slot Ooze. It's not going to help you that much because those players are not
I think it adds an interesting strategic element on when to buy priests and when not.
There is no strategy to the choice, strategy would imply : My opponents have gone items, shall I bump up my creep wave to support my team indirectly? We can go early priests with reinforcement upgrades to push towers? Oh no, our opponents have gone priests, we need to keep up! These are not scenarios in the g
Why?
Because they are a game breaker, they are the one thing that guarantees you lose the game. They are only "useful" (should be compulsory, not really useful) once you are winning decisively and you want to get giants. If you buy them to help you push (which is what they should be for) then you give your opponent so much more exp and gold per wave it is insane. 5 Mino's - 165 XP, 20 GP 2 Archers - 66 XP, 16 GP 3 Priests -
Still getting posting problems, says I have replied but no reply showing..... Where are they going?
Forum is now bugged too :( Posts not showing up until I post. Then disappearing again. Forum main page not showing topics..... :(
What I like about it is that it is a great tactical game. You do not need to be micro heavy with 10 clicks per second, instead the game is more about controlling the map, knowing your chosen character and working with your team. Compared to traditional RTS it is a little more relaxing, in that you are not trying to get the exact build order up .5 sec ahead of your opponent. It allows for a lot of choice. Also even with 8 DGs there is no overpowering build, some builds are bett
Ummm they tried this already and the problem was that the community got split. Then there were still few beta testers to really hammer the servers, which was causing most of the problems. They said they wouldn't go back to the method.
Only played a quick game in SP to test out my new upgraded computer and I gotta say that the AI was still pretty shocking. Running into towers, not using abilities, even going so far that I was able to triple kill 3 of them in a group (I was only level 10, not even artifacts involved). Was only playing on Hard 3v3 mind you.
Great guide. Priests should definately have their XP and gold lowered.
