I just checked out the website for the game. I don't know enough about it yet to say whats what with it gameplay wise but the art style sure is friggin' through the dang roof!! Wow! It's a cool looking game I'll give them that right off the bat. :SURPRISED:
He seems to be referring to a subsection of the military research screen. While research amounts are small individually, usually a 5% bonus per level, they do indeed add up as you progress through the game. Even limiting yourself to level 1 hull and armor bonuses gives you a bonus that gets better and better as you build more ships. Research at the lower levels is useful when a game gets going and you have income rates that allow you to recoup resources spent on research in a minute or tw
They will fix the website cuz is so SLOW to move in any topic?!
Glad to see I am not the not the only one. These boards were glacial yesterday! sheez. :( Are the forums just whonky because people are a bit Sins crazy atm (like me, a new member) or are they always like this? I like it better than GalCiv2 personally. While that is a great game I like the pacing of Sins better. Not to fast not to slow imo. As was stated many times above I also really wish there were more ways to win. The smash method is cool definitely because the ship battles are so nice but diplomacy, research, culture would also be fun. Diversity ftw.
I'd love to see Alpha Centauri redone. That game is one of the best ever
You and me both buddy. I agree one of the b
I think the appeal of the campaign is that it's a vehicle for providing more information about the lore of the game...
Yeah exactly. That is what I find fun about campaigns is that the story is told. Also it sets up conditions that can be unique to the campaign which I also find fun, such as a handful of ships with limited development to get through the screnario, things like that. The only thing that bummed me out about the article is that it sounds like the exp
Nobody out there has an opinion on this? Does the lack of an answer mean not people use it? :NOTSURE:
As the title says any thoughts on the SubStructure Systems tree? I have only had the game about a week or so now so I am still learning my way around. I have only played TEC to try and see whats what and get a feel for the game. I took a good hard look at the research tree last night reading the different techs rather than playing somewhat blind and I wonder how usefuil the substructure tree is. Does it make a whole lot of difference? I went almost all the way through it on my last ga
So I get up at 5am yesterday morning as I had a busy day ahead of me. I worked until about 9am and took a break for some SoSE. Damn. A short break...NOT! :SURPRISED: On the plus side it looks as though I might win my first game (small, 2 player) after repeatly getting thwacted in my previous games. Just wanted to get that off my chest. :D
I have read what this site has to say and what a number of game site previews have to say and I must admit I am still skeptical and a little puzzled. I have played the demos of DoW and other RTSs and have completed a few RTSs (WC3) and they just seem like (for the most part) twitch group panic gameplay. You never get to enjoy the time you have invested in your creation and such. You're just jumping around the map pumping out as much as you can as fast as you can. I am tried of that. Whi
