The man was shocked. What did you want him to do? Panic? Make a quick decision? That's the same guy you believed lied to you when he repeated what everybody was saying. So the country was being attacked and the president stayed calm. Big deal. Bush has a history of his "deer in the headlights" syndrome. Whenever any kind of un-scripte

1. How many people died in Saddam's wars against Iran, the Kurds, Kuwait, and American and British troops? Funny, Saddam was the golden boy of the U.S right up until he invaded Kuwait. The war against Iran was a proxy war that he fought on behalf of the U.S (much as the northern Alliance fought a proxy war to oust the Taliban in Afghani
This peace conference is an absolute farce. In order to even have a peace conference, you need all the players at the table. This means Iran, Hezbollah and several other key parties that have been excluded. It's a nice gesture on Bush's part but unfortunately it's purely photogenic- there's no substance to this meal, instead of steak and potatoes it's all cake.
Thanks daniel, I will go and find your thread on homeland security and give it a go. To this day I still don't understand why people feel that they have to defend the candidate they voted for. For example, I voted for my current member of parliament and I'm very happy with the job he's doing. But I'm also very critical of the job he's doing BECAUSE I voted for him. When I get into a discussion with someone in my riding who is against the MP I voted for and they start questioning his pe
One thing these idiots keep harping on is the fact that these are unarmed people being tasered. Well, no shit! If they were armed they'd be shot instead. Good point Mason. My belief on tasers is that they have in fact been over used by police. I do not believe that they should be used as an all-purpose method to subdue anyone being un-cooperat
In this article I would like to discuss my opinion of GWB. This is not a Bush-bashing article, nor an attack on the right. This is an explanation of why I believe some of the things I do. This may shock some people to hear, but I used to be a conservative and I rooted heavily for GW back in 2000. I have no problem with conservatives or their policies, although I do disagree with some of them. I have no problems with "the right" or even the republican party for that matter. Certai
Congratulations Champas! I was running on the treadmill at the gym when the news was announced on TV, and almost fell off. I hope that this is a sign of good things to come.
The two biggest problems we encounter when dealing with customers complaining of internet problems: 1) Customer routers - they buy a router (wireless or otherwise) and hook it up to the modem which we provide. They seem be unable to grasp the concept that we are providing a connection that comes through that modem, but what they do after that is entirely their own responsibility. Although it is against official policy, quite often the tech support guys will
i don't know does blair count. Funny you mention Blair, do you remember something called the Downing Street Minutes? Back before the war began the British PM and his advisors sat down and discussed the fact that the U.S (read Bush administration) was jonesing to go into Iraq and they were going to make the intel "facts" fit their case. See, normally you gather intel and THEN build your case. If you do it the other way around, that is called a lie. In th
"Murtha could do me a huge favor and go choke on a bone somewhere" Yeah, because you know he was only in the marine corps for what? 30 years? And that whole thing about getting two purple hearts in Vietnam among several other medals are clearly signs of his traitorous nature. He volunteered to go to Vietnam by the way, after doing more than his fair share of service several years prior. Personally, if I had to choose between the opinion of Jack Murtha and George Bush- who sweated
The funny thing about the intel on this war is that there was no big screw up- leading up to it the CIA continually sent accurate reports to the higher-ups stating that Iraq posed no threat and had little to no WMD capabilities. These reports were read over by one Douglas Feith and Paul Wolfowitz (may they both burn in hell for what they've done) and sent back to the CIA saying essentially "not what we wanted to hear, re-do it" Pretty quickly the message got across wh
Tee hee. Let's see how Bush and co. squirm out of this one! Bush may not be getting elected again, but I personally would like to see him and most of his administration brought up on criminal charges. Alas it won't happen, but one can hope, no?
The U.S didn't go to war because Bush said "hey, let's send freedom on the march, baby!" It went to war on the pack of lies that Iraq was building WMD's (a lie) and had connection to terrorists like AQ (also a lie) Tied into the whole thing there was the insinuation that the Iraq war was somehow tied to 9/11, which if that terrible and unforgivable event had never happened they never would have garnered the popular support necessary to go and invade other co
People in northern Iraq are building cities and name them "American Village"; they copy the looks of American fast food restaurants (but hopefully not the food), they learn English and try to be more American. Children in Anbar province paint graffities of Iraqis and Americans joining forces to fight Al-Qaeda terrorists. Muslims in Baghdad are calling for Iraqi Christians to return to the country and attend service in St. John's Catholic church to show their l
I agree with you San. Like I said if they can get a car like this with similar pricing to get up to 60mph, count me in!
A few nights ago I was sitting in my hotel room flipping through the channels and I happened to catch the democratic presidential debate on CNN. It was a complete gong show in which Wolf Blitzer would continually try to cut off the candidates in mid-answer and the questions were framed in such a way to try and force them to boil everything down to simple yes or no answers. "Are you saying that human rights are more important than national security?" is one such gem he aske
So next you'll be onto rock climbing eh?
What is a liberal? Well, the answer depends on who you ask. Rather than me sit here and drone on about ideology, I'd like to share with you good folks one of my favorite liberal authors; a fellow by the name of Joe Bageant, who is from Winchester Virginia. He's also a redneck, which doesn't usually fit into the typical stereotypes associated with such a political persuasion. If you believe that all liberals are flawed in their beliefs, check out his site, and if you're rea
Congrats Gideon, sounds like you've put up with a lot to get to where you are today! I agree that getting knocked down doesn't mean you're done for, it's all a matter of perspective, attitude and most importantly being REALISTIC about your situation. I've run into so many bright people over the years who were throwing their lives away in dead end jobs because they figured that since they were in a dead-end job, what was the point of trying to do any better? Many never seemed to grasp the conc
Good article, good arguments. I would however venture that 'conservatives' tend to make better business people not because of their political affiliation, but because of the cultural and educational background that tends to generally be included with such an upbringing. I do not believe that a person's ideological beliefs necessarily translate into better skills in a certain avenue of life. I used to be conservative, for most of my life actually. Now that I am no longer of that persuasion,
Arty, have I mentioned you're my favorite new blogger on this site? Why thanks SanChonino, I'll try not to disappoint! And in reply to Moderateman- you are so stupid, you probabally try to shave the image in the mirror instead of your own face My Gods, sometimes you crack me up. I would as
Thanks indeed Frogboy, this is good stuff. Never again will I use MS word to pre-build my documents before posting them online!!!
Are you that dumb? Now this is what I love about JU. First thing in the morning, doing my usual routine of catching up on the news with a cup of joe and already people are snarling at each other, to soon deteriorate into the usual name calling and tit for tat insults. One morning, I almost spewed my coffee on the monitor in surprise as I was r
Looks like the electric car is making a comeback- introducing the ZENN (zero emissions, no noise) there's a couple of detractors that prevent me from buying one right this instant but it sure as heck isn't the price. It's affordable, green and has specs that almost make me want to buy one tomorrow. Almost. Below I will give my pros and cons of the vehicle, check it out yourself at http://www.zenncars.com/ The reas
The MSM wants you to think you are getting unfiltered facts, when in truth, they are just the left's version of talk radio. I would respectfully beg to differ on this one. The closest thing that the left has to a TV pundit would be Steven Colbert or John Stewart. Oh, yes and Keith Olberman. The right has Glenn Beck- who has prim
