I would also like to propose a Member of the Year as well. That would be none other than the distinguished Po'Smedley. Who here hasn't had one of the best chuckles at Po's contributions just to the forums. His outstanding and dedicated spirit to this community is second to none. He's calmed many a dispute and made people feel welcomed.
I'm with you, Phoon. In fact, the only thing on this site funnier to read is Zubaz's spelling.....
I now realise my request was even simpler than I thought...and yes I DO BELIEVE that customer service fell down on this one.
Ya know, I wait 5 days to get help for software I paid $50 for (it was Thanksgiving), and I didn't cry like a lil baby about. But when I finally got the support, the folks from SD spent over 2 hours on the Stardock IRC with me so I could use my software. And just out of curiosity, did you not think to visit SD support to begin with? And if you did,

Only 10%? I can honestly say that I don't personally know 1 person that still uses an 800X600 desktop. And a $189 dollar monitor is hardly "top of the line". Much less the $129 nVidia 8500GT I bought on sale. WB wasn't designed to fit that resolution, plain and simple. Look at #29. It tells you in system requirements what the min resolution is. And if only 10% of people use better hardware, then what sense would it make for companies to put out software for only that 10%??? The

Now that doesn't sound like too bad of an idea actually. The only problem I see with that is convincing people to become subscribers. This site already gives you 4 suites/skins, the WC Browser, and the WC Tray. Plus discounts on master suites. It seems like a good deal IMHO, but apparently this isn't enough to draw in the masses. So what would it take for the nonsubs to want to subscribe? That's where the real question lies........

Let's see....been playing alot of Gran Tourismo 4 lately for the PS2 (can't afford the PS3...yet). As far as PC, I usually play either Star Wars (Knights of the Old Republic or Empire at War), Civilization IV, or Doom 3. Occasionally I'll break out the good ol' Alien vs. Predator 2 or America's Army (great graphics on that one!!!).

Well, fontinalis, what is your suggestion then? It's easy to say "no ads please", but in the reality of the situation, WC needs more money to operate. Like you said...
This is a great site right?
This site won't be great if it doesn't have income to pay the bills..... this site will simply cease to exist. And for what it's worth, I came to this site well before going to SD. It's this site that made me want to purchase ODNT, along with ObjectDock Plus and CXP Plus.

But it doesn't make much sense to me.... maybe I'm just obtuse. I would rather pay the sub. price and deal with one or two ads, as opposed to paying nothing and getting swamped with ads. Plus, as Zoomba stated, some of the revenue generated by these STATIC ads will go towards giving perks to the subscribers. And people need to understand that the promise wasn't no ads period. It was: "removing banners and other ads from the website that may hinder your surfing experience"
