Then the only remaining issue would be, 'does the skin have to be uploaded to this site as well?' After thinking about it, I think it'd be safer to just say 'yes, it does'. Or, at least there should be plans to upload to WC if it isn't already.
I agree completely...
A Coleco ADAM...CPU, Keyboard, and printer all in 1 box. What wasn't included were earplugs for the daisy wheel printer that sounded like a war zone.

Wow! I didn't think anyone else here would've had one of those!
Alright! Two more folks that owned an ADAM! I had one back in...what was it? 1983 was the year it came out. Summer, if my memory serves me. Had the complete package (not the silly expansion module #3 that connected to your ColecoVision).
Did I mention 4 years with atleast 3 of those with no further updates?
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't support for XP supposed to continue until 2009? While there may not be another SP after 3, that doesn't mean that you won't be able to get security updates, etc.

I'll buy Vista after SP1 comes out... just makes more sense to wait until they fix some of the issues. Computer's not a problem. 500gb hdd, 2gb ram, nVidia 8600 (SLI and pci-e) w/ 512mb onboard ram, yadda yadda yadda.... As for change, well, it is inevitable.

Takes a big person to say that. All's well.... And for what it's worth, messiah and vS, your (collective) skins ROCK!!!!
I tend to agree with the term "group porting" more than I do "community skin". But any way you look at it, the facts still remain the same. Does it really matter, in the long run, if it's called a "community" project? That reads easier than, "A collection of skins and widgets designed by a group of individuals who got together to create something really impressive for the users of this website". Takes up less space, too!
well, then that is not much of a community, only an audience.
But WC isn't a democracy, is it? No. It's a company owned and operated by individuals who have the right to set whatever standards and rules they choose. To me, it's not important enough to cough up a hairball over. It's apparent (to me) that most people have a different idea of what a "community skin" is. But in the end, that decision is made by the higher-ups at WC, and that's part of their responsibilit
beer (mmmm...beer n pizza)
I'm not 100% sure OUR opinions or definitions of "community skin" matters. What matters is the definition set by WC admin. Whether it's 2 or 20, if they want to call it a community skin, well... I think that would be their right. Does it really matter that 100 people weren't involved, or that public invites weren't posted? If so, why? Does it make people feel left out? How many of you would have said anything about this had Kitty not started this thread? Were some of you waiting with ba
anchovies (yuck )
Some of you kill me. Thinking of yourselves instead of the community at large. What's worse, some of you are acting like kids having a pissing contest or arguing over who's got the biggest... well, you get the picture! Is it really so important that tempers flare and tantrums are thrown? Do you have to restort to insults and name calling? What kind of example are you setting for new skinners, or just plain ol' subscribers? And what of the outcome? Are we all happy now?
Ah, but that's only if the hypothetical rules would limit promoting off-site work to Masters; which might actually be a good guidline but might rub some people the wrong way.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the only skinners allowed to sell their wares masters? If so, why should that change if promoting off-site work is allowed? It wouldn't bother me (tho I am just one grain of sand in the WC community). The way I see it, only masters SHOULD be allowed to sell/promot
Ya know, it's bad enough this thread turned as ugly as it did. What's worse is it's carrying over into other threads..... {link removed because post was removed - Zubaz}
