Well not sure, what happen, but apparently it was more then just my games. It took the games to bring forth a bug within my system but in the end, it was a corruption in my window's programming. Reinstalling windows vista, fixed the problem with all three games. Reguardless, my system is fixed and the games are working again. I'll have to do more troubleshooting on my end to find out what corrupted my system. Thanks all for your help and information.

Ok, I found the problem. Under Impulse the game icon's for the two versions. GalCiv2 and DA (still reinstalling third patch) both point to thier respecive launch files. GC2Launch and DAlaunch. Both of these files are out of date with the current patch and so when selecting the icon's under Impulse, they are directed to these files and so crash. If I go under the file directory and select the updated application files, GalCiv2 and GC2DarkAvatar, the games launch correctly but with one error
Uninstalling, reinstalling, all attempts to correct fails. Using Impulse, program states it's installed correctly but still fails to launch saying "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly" I can't get the basic game to load haven't started to even try to reinstall the expansions.
uninstalling and going to reinstall to see if it fixes the problem
I used the update featured within Impulse to update all 3 apps of GalCiv II and now, not a single one works. All three crash before even launching.
