if you encounter the error where it says "missing d3d (blah blah) and/or other dlls" this is the fix: most likely this error has to with wrong directory paths... right click entrenchment in impulse and open the application folder. if this folder differs from the root "My Games"-folder (set the folder in the preferences option in stardock) it won't work. manual edit: run "regedit" go to HKLM ->

i'm encountering the desync every time i play (playing entrenchement beta currently) - sometimes earlier sometimes later in a game (most of the time later). sometimes its not even crashing. it simply runs out of sync - when my buddy an me playing with teamspeak he tells me that a planet is raped by pirates, in my copy of the game the planet is all mine - no attacks... what is the current state of the desync problem? will it be fixed with entrenchement release?

InfiniteVoid: in entrenchement the tooltip of the kostura cannon says that the attacked target planet also becomes a phace stabilizer node for a brief period of time - the time is however really pretty short ~1-2min i think. the shipüs can travel everywhere unless the planet is a colonized planet. with the kostura i was a

hi all! i played lots of entrenchement games already! they all seem to run out of sync when loading the game one - is this a known problem? anything there to fix it? the game does not tell that there is a synchonization problem - although some parts of the game are in sync (diplomacy or something), some other are running completely different... any help on this?

I just tried Sins under ubuntu 8.04 beta with wine 0.9.59, it installs well, also intro and menus work - but every time when logging into ico or opening a multiplayer game it hangs up saying: fixme:winsock:WSAIoctl unsupported WS_IOCTL cmd (98000004) fixme:winsock:ws_sockaddr_u2ws Unknown address family 8 fixme:winsock:ws_sockaddr_u2ws Unknown address family 8 fixme:winsock:ws_sockaddr_u2ws Unknown address family 8 fixme:winsock:ws_sockaddr_u2ws Unknown address family 8<

hi! I'm often playing 3on3 on random huge maps with 3 stars. every time ppl are placed the same way 2+1 in one star and 1+2 in the second star - the third one is always(!) left out and no player was ever placed alone in one star system. there should be an option how players are distributed in the stars! maybe the dev can add some support for this in the next patch? what do you think?

yes, i believe vista makes games only faster if you have more than 2 gigs of ram, because the memory management is better then it is in xp. i'm having no problems - i've got a quad core cpu, 2 gb ram, gf 8800 gts superclocked - have no problems, but in huge battles i see the frames dropping and there is no notable difference beteween me (quadcore) and the dual core of my friend next to me (he has almost the same system as me). we were viewing the same battle in an lan-game. so thats why i'm aski

so when there is not too much multi-threading right now, would the os change the performance in a positive way since vista probably does a better handling with multiple cpus?! because if the developers did't made it until know they probably won't do it until release? am i right? or is the implementation of threading processes not a too hard way? thanks!

the game rooooocks! it's really damn cool, no crashes, everything runs smoothly on my system. great work. i wonder why so less people have heard about this great game. i just have one question: is there a big difference in running sins on a dual than on a quad-core cpu (on windows xp, not vista)? i mean, in the late game when big fleets come together, it's normal that your frames drop a bit. is a quad core cpu significantly improving frame rates in comparison to a dual core cpu in this situation
