I would like to know what win2k misses that XP magically has!
Xtanto
I will give this a try also when I get my copy.
Heflys you may be thinking of windowsME, windows 2000 is NT5.0 and windows xp is NT5.1 practically the same.
Note - Sins is flagged not to install on windows 2000
I have many games that say windows XP supported but they all work on win2k. Really there is almost no difference between XP and 2k except the skin that makes it look like XP was made for children. Also I am sure that stardock will refund me as the order has not even been sent yet. I ordered the box to be sent to the UK and just tried the download as it would be quicker than to wait. It does state that XP and vista are supported but it does not state that they have added a flag
Just as a sub point - windows 2000 must be much much MUCH easer to support than say VISTA!
I have just got this game and because of the error I sent email asking for refund. If you could tell me how to install in win2k I am willing to risk any insatiability but I am not very technical. Please help I have got gal civ 2 and all expansions an they all work!
Well if it works for win2k I would like to install and play I have gal civ2 and all the expansions and they never asked for winXP. Also Win2k and XP are nearly the same!
Any other win2k users can I get this game working or do I just get my money back? Xtanto
Heh just use labs and run at 100% then you don't need to worry about the sliders. Use focus to build ships and social.
If you need any more persuading about the DA lab icon progression look no further than the tech speed modifier when you setup the game! Here they seem to be in the 'correct' order.
I have pre-ordered TA but I am waiting till it is released to play as I am enjoying DA. Could anyone who is playing TA tell me if buildings for labs now look correct?
Loupdinour if you need to exploit to win perhaps you need to reduce the difficulty level? :P
I was not joking about the labs - has no one else noticed this in DA?
Heh I am from the UK and my Credit card just worked even though it was dollars. Since it about 2million dollars to the pound its a good deal! I would not worry and just use your Euro card and it will all come out in the wash.
Evil is easy mode. Play a aggressive good for a bit of a challenge :) Oh and if you play on small maps the good 5 free planet maintenance is handy.
While we are on the subject of old non bugs:- I think the image for basic lab and xeno lab should be swapped around. The basic lab looks like an upgraded xeno lab clearly these are the wrong way around?
I love how your calling everyone jan 9, the users name is above the date?
I would just like to add as an ex scientist I do not like the fact that factorys can produce research! This also does not seem to be a necessary game mechanic. I would like research only to occur with labs.
I like the idea of setting the approval rate and have it automaticly do the tax for you. Then you can just set it to 21% 41% 75% 100% and the tax works its self out!
How about a tax button that is called 100% approval you could just hit this and then don't have to fiddle with the slide bar to find the magic number! Now how about that?
Haven't we answered this in another thread pharoah247? https://forums.galciv2.com/?forumid=162&aid=171710#1408744
This does make the upgrade system much more flexible and you will find it more useful now. :)
The changes they have made are for the better. Just try playing an easy game you will fine things balance out in the end.
pharoah247 - when you upgrade a ship have you designed a new ship to upgrade to? What you need to do is have a new design and then select the ship you want to upgrade and then select the design and then choose how you want to pay. Is this what your doing?
