Again sorry your not enjoying the game. Perhaps you would be best served to find a different game to play? I can understand shelling out money for a game that doesnt meet your desires. I do it all the time. Its a bummer. That being said I still think this title is great and has ample room to grow. I would suggest that EVERYONE just calm down. There is no need to attack other players based on opinions.. Yeah I know thats a tall order. This is a game. Enjoy it or don't, feel free to share y
I am looking forward to getting these parts, but I can't say I'm comfortable with the idea that they will never be available to others. I think that it being a 'timed' exclusive would be more community friendly. Hopefully in the future non-early adopters will get the chance to purchase this if they want to.
It is a timed exclusive. Players who purchased prior to May 17th will
Oh, dear, oh dear, take some deep breath and try and relax, I'm sure you and your friend aren't the only ones with some bugbear or other with the game, doesn't mean your subjective opinions are right though;
I play with a friend named bugbear. I assure you that term brings a whole new meaning when he is involved ;)
I"m good and irked at the moment; my buddy and I just finished discussing this in detail, so I've confirmed I'm not the only one that feels this way. 1) Pirates. What the #$%(. No rules for pirates? No supply? No cost? Just appear in the middle of nowhere and start raiding? This is "raging barbarians" from Civ 5, and we hate it. I don't want to DISABLE pirates, I want them to play by THE SAME RULES AS

yeah I actually observed the custom races being disabled last night. I didn't notice the map size limitation. I also noticed planetary invasions is no longer animated but thats a different topic. I'm ok with them installing these limits in an effort to track down and correct problems. We know startdock will have them back in when they are stable. This is actually a brilliant way to raise the multiplayer stability for release. Although it takes away a bit, stabil

Sadly I possess the artistic talent of a newt. Maybe if someone handled that part then I could. As long as it doesnt cut into magical princess and pony fairly tale time. I do not want the little one rioting

Just had the AI offer me my pants after the kicked my...rear... out of them. This is one player who is happy to say the AI can outclass players. Trading looks to be better balanced though I havn't gone hand over hand with all the stuff but they are not as willing to hand me keys to the city anymore. Perfect! I'm not stating that balance won't continue to be needed. Thats a point not one person here would argue. I guess the main focus is on the Ai is "human" enough on beginner for

I agree multiplayer needs to be stable. I think it will be. By May 14th, I don't know. I also agree that releasing with it unstable will lead to some bad press. I have faith that regardless of an official release date I will be playing long multiplayer insane sized games at some point. My biggest concern with that is needing a planet killer to minimize late game management of new unwanted planets. Thats sort of off topic though. All in all If i never played another minute I'd already

I'm a long term fan of the series, a stardock fan, and a multiplayer enthusiast. I would have bought the game as a single player game. I would not have purchased 5 copies like I did without that element. Not a complaint just my response. I'm very happy with the game and understand that work will continue well after whatever day it's officially released. I'm skeptical that 1 week could provide enough time for them to finish their polishing and stabilize multiplayer. Thats

Conditions under which we have had successful games include. 3 humans using standard races on huge map. planets set to occasional, AI on gifted, minors abundant. We had a few crashes but were able to load back up and press onward. 2 player with custom races being used by humans and AI. Again we have occasional crashes but are able to restore. During both occasions while in the lobby players reported the information being dis

The multiplayer functions I agree need some work. Hopefully before launch as I also agree that reviewers will not speak kindly of it's current state. The fact that multiplayer is a game feature is huge for this franchise. I have no doubt that it will be improved upon. For those having issues with multiplayer might I suggest going without custom races for the time being. We have been fairly successful on huge sized maps with all the standard races being played by humans or AI.

I realize this is a long heated thread and to be honest I didn't read it all. I just wanted to toss my opinion into the ring. Taking into consideration the AI in it's currently released form as of my posting. 1st off do I think the AI is done, or perfect. No and I don't think anyone here is making that argument. Is the AI advanced enough for release? I would say so. It acts well enough to be unpredictable. Are there improvements that can and will be made? Of course. It is possible

Most games simply dump overflow and you completely lose it. They allow you to "stock" it. Sure if you play long enough you can cut everything to 1 turn anyways but thats late game and at that point you already better have won ;) Before that point you could cut down production on military manufacturing to focus it elsewhere and use that stockpiled build up. It's far better mechanics then most games will give you. I like the system as it is. If you can pop out a dozen ships from 1 shipyard

The blue ring around your space isn't a diplomatic line. It is a cultural presence line. It shows how far your culture extends. Most people treat it as a diplomatic line, but the AI does not. There was a discussion about it in the latest dev stream. There is also an open borders treaty already. Possibly not the response you were hoping for but I hope it's helpful.

The invite option linked into steam does not appear to function at this time for the game. We have been simply hosting and having the others look in the lobby for our game. It's public at this point soo they have always easily found the game. If your game is not visable to the others I would suggest checking your port forwarding. Though someone else will have to tell you what ports galciv3 uses as I am not sure. Hope this helps
