Have you ever tried sending in about a thousand scouts, with a couple factories nearby to keep in a steady wave of reinforcments. And if all else fails they can retreat really damn fast.
the problem was that he was ahead of me and i coulndt pull back before he jumped away doing more hit and runs
Were you able to move deeper into his empire? I can not really think of anything else then to deal with that.

I would pull back to one of my planets, position my fleet at the edge of the gravity well and when he jumps after me for pursuit I would be right where he pops up, shoot up the carriers before the bombers are launched, and hopefully you could beat his fleet. On a more stratigic note, I would build more fighters and pray that he does not have flak nearby.
I say the Protoss were stronger then the others as well. Zerg I thought were too weak.
Put a couple lurkers in your base and the only way for anyone to attack you was with a nuke

Starcraft was the first RTS game I have played and I have been waiting 12 years for the second one. I just hope that Blizzard keeps the sides even, in Brood war the zerg were way to good. I also hope Blizzard allows those of us with crappy computers to play.

I think that as the Advent or the TEC you should be able to build a ship that will slowly tow the starbases around, but let the Vasari Starbase have the most mobility (speed). Starbases do need better antistrikecraft weapons and maybe more hp.
