Why don't the pirates launch their attack when the timer reaches zero? It works like an eBay auction except there is an ambiguous invisible time you can bid after the auction is supposed to close ;p This just makes pirates a little more frustrating because you never know when the pirates will decide who to attack and if this is a critical "auction" for you, you can't really do other things in your empire because the pirates take up the whole screen and you don't want to take your eye

Awesome, thanks dude! I made one myself from screenshots of the in-game keys, but this is much better!
1. Hot keying a fleet includes only current members...so new members are included and members that leave get removed. Also include naming fleets. 2. Fix diplomacy. 3. Fix FPS drops when text is present on screen. It usually goes from 60 to 30 whenever it happens, and jumps back to 60 once the text disappears. I have an 8800GTX and I'm not sure if it's just an issue with 8800's and are waiting for a driver update, but if this problem is fixable that would be nice. 4
Yeah, I love the game, but diplomacy seems pretty useless right now except maybe way late in the game when you can actually take out an opponent...and that would only work if the other AI's had missions for you to attack that player. Maybe there could be a diplomatic ship you could research, and sending it to another player's planet would create "talks" to increase your allegiance and form an alliance?
I have finished 2 1v1 maps successfully, but it was not too much of a challenge. I've tried both a 3 free for all and 4 free for all with AI, and both times the AI forms alliances against me very quick, and invades not long after I acquire my 2nd planet. It seems a little weighted against human players (me) because the only way to get alliances is to complete those crazy missions that I can't possible accomplish that early in the game or give them all my resources. Do the AI actually s
Well, I just took some screenshots, cropped, and made my own PDF. Oh well.
Basically, bind the fleet to the hotkey, instead of the ships within it? If that's what you're suggesting it sounds good to me.
Yeah, exactly...make it the same as clicking the fleet icon on the empire tree.
Anyone else think this would be useful?
A nice change would be grouping a fleet includes all current members and no past members. I have mainly be using groups hot keys for fleets, so this would be a great feature. It is annoying to have to keep resetting the group when a new ship joins or another one leaves. Maybe this feature could only be activated if you select the fleet icon when setting the group to avoid taking out current functionality? Thanks!
To someone at either Stardock or Ironclad: Can people who have the retail version at least download the keymap in PDF form? The people who payed for the CE will have a physical copy which is better than downloadable anyways, so I don't think they would complain about us being able to download it. I don't want to have to take multiple screenshots of the in-game version, crop them together, and put them in a PDF myself just to have a copy of the controls :p
I'm just a bit confused as to your description: For example, I just started bombarding a nearby planet. I sent in 2 fleets and once they were there I issued them orders to attack. I went off to do something else for a minute, came back and noticed one smaller ship at the edge of the gravity well So you jumped some ships in, with all of them selected you showed to attack a planet, then switched your view to something e
Yeah, I'll try to take a screenshot later. That's right about the point of origin, they seem to want to go back to the rally point. Maybe it's bug of ships auto-joining fleets before they get a chance to hit the rally point?
I've recently been having a problem where I'll send a fleet to a planet to do something, and after they are there randomly 1 or 2 of the ships might try to phase jump back. For example, I just started bombarding a nearby planet. I sent in 2 fleets and once they were there I issued them orders to attack. I went off to do something else for a minute, came back and noticed one smaller ship at the edge of the gravity well, I guess trying to phase jump back to the planet I sent them from. A
I bought mine at BestBuy. So, I don't get a keycard I can just print myself for the game? Sorry, but that is just stupid. I hope they just post something...
Yeah, I got my from BB also because I had gift cards from Christmas still. A PDF of shortcuts doesn't seem like a "co
I was wondering the same thing. The list is in the actual game, but having a separate list would be better.
1. Is there an option to leave up the infocard of the selected ship? Right now it only stays up as long as I have my mouse on it or have my mouse in the central picture icon thing. 2. I'm not ready to do this yet (play online), but is there online matchmaking or just playing with friends? When I made an account and logged in during the game just to see, the only thing I could do seemed to be "add friends", "Create game", or "Join game" which all seemed to require having friends entered.
Yeah, I noticed this too. I'm pretty much always running 60fps but as soon as an infocard, pop up message, or any other text appears my fps drops to almost 30. As soon as the text disappears it goes back up to 60 fps.
by expanding and grabbing more planets =P that's the fastest way of gaining more income
Well on the map I picked the two adjacent planets were occupied with enemies already. I'll just start on a different map ;)
What is the quickest way to start building up credits at the beginning of a game? I have done the civilian infrastructure upgrade twice and a civilian research to up pop by 8%, but it still seems really slow. I only had enough money to build 3 light frigates in 30 or 40 minutes before like 15 pirates came and owned me. Am I doing something wrong or does it just take a little longer to get stuff going than I thought? edit: I was TEC btw. Also, I just quit to start a new game, and lookin
But does the game actually run native in 64-bit?
cards and stuff be available free to download for people buying retail boxed copies? I'm guessing some of that documentation stuff will be a little outdated. Why should that be?
Well, I thought I read than in the original documentation the hotkeys were not organized by function and have just recently been changed to do so. I'm guessing the actual retail manuals and everything has been done already, so
Will the reorganized hotkey cards and stuff be available free to download for people buying retail boxed copies? I'm guessing some of that documentation stuff will be a little outdated.
Except Supreme Commander (at least the demo I played) ran at like 20 fps on a great system before I even really built anything. Good to hear Sins runs great :D
