I have to totally agree with Rickder19 here. Not only do units but everything else stinks of WC3. I mean just look at the mouse controls - you click to select units and you click and drag to select multiple ones - where does Sins get off so blatantly ripping off Warcraft?! And don't even get me started on keyboard shortrcuts - F10 to call up the main menu - that's exactly the same as in every warcraft game! I understand copying a feature or two, I mean if something's done right then it'd
Larowyn
Digital download, $$ straight to SD/IC's pocket (I do not know how the costs are split up). The digital download price is higher then the recommended manufacture price of $39 to please the distributers, judging from the silence from Europe I think they still need to s.. er get all the help they can get. Oh, and for the FIRST TIME I've seen 2, yes "2" copies side by side on a shelf (and several dozen Bioshock copies piled in the corner). They hav
The only reasoning behind this that I can think of is it offset the microing required by the other 2 sides with their colony ships. Be it that this defeats the advantage the vasari have or it makes it more fair is dependent on your view point or if you like playing as vasari or not. -Edit- Anohter reason could be if you want your scouts to explore more then taking the mines which would apply if the enemy has a colony frigate left in the gravity well taking back the roid as soo

https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/301418 Graphics mod to improve effects in the game. Beyond this there really isn't much else except some tweaks here and there. The final modding tools are not released yet and this is limiting the modding community, when they are released expect a explosion in the number of mods.
12% damage bonus is my favorite. The 50% travel time between star reduction artifact is the worst just because i most often find it on single star maps. If find that medium random map averages 3, maybe 4 artifacts. In MP matches i will only explore key planets in the hopes of useful bonus (the extra tactical/logistic slots are very nice).
Time is not that that big of a issue as you can build multiple frigate factories. Your scenario based on resource cost IMHO would prove more valuable, and guestimates are not very useful when you go beyond a few ships.
Maybe in the expansion we'll see a vastly improved AI. With the rather huge percentage of players (IMHO) that go for SP over MP (even then often as co-op), i expect it would be worth the effort for IC to take on such a task.
This is how it currently works. Once a bounty is placed on a player (whoever has the highest bounty when the timer expires and the red bar in the pirate menu stops flashing) a pirate fleet will be sent until there are no more structures left in the gravity well and return to the pirate base with whatever ships are left and add to the "pirate defense fleet" at the pirate base. They will also stop bombing your planet if all structures are gone but the planet is still owned by someone, th
You still didn't answer the rest of my post.
How about replying to the rest of my post.
we don't f'n need this. First how do you propose to decide what is worth more? That LRM fleet or a bunch of research stations for a HC rush? You along with just about everyone else will get their panties in a bunch because no one will agree what is worth more. There is no hope of balancing the end score to have a victor and any attempt by the devs would detract from actual improvements to the game.
-People complain that the game is a shallow version of a 4X not deserving the title and that there is little to do and gets boring. -Count all the tecs and come back and tell me it's small. Perhaps the research is too quick but there is more then a few of them. -The AI is not overly good, play MP and you will see just how fast you mass of ships evaporates without any tactics behind the choice of units and tech. -If you expected to always have a good view of your fleet in combat aft
LAN games will, no idea about MP.
Hmmm, must dl the demo and see if this works in reverse. Would explain the problems people are having when installing the demo.
Meh, there are posts somewhere saying advent is over powered. Balance has been restored to the universe.
The digital download is $45 USD. Sins has NO DRM/CD protection so you do not need the CD. Once you register the serial number with Stardock Central (update/download manager)you can do these things: -Download the full and up to date game with no limit that i am aware of. -Download patches. -Download the soundtrack/.pdf artwork (can someone state where that option is, i forget) -Download the full game and backup to a CD. The manual is located in the same folder
Edit: Seems like the type that would downlaod it off a torrent
The fact he asked shows to me he is going to be active in looking for a price drop and actually buying the game rather then pirate and forget.
40$ is a bit much?!?! What kind of world are you living in cus i want to go there! the avg console game goes for 60$ and PC game goes for 50$. Sins is more then well priced
Some people don't see video games as being worth the price tag, even if it's $40. It doesn't matter if the average price is higher, it's still not worth that much to to them.
Right now most stores are having problems keeping Sins stocked on the shelves (i've seen "2" hard copies of sins since release), most stores will not see a need to lower the prices yet. Once you see Sins consistently stocked start watching for any drop in price. I have not look at any sort of price trend in games so i do not know when the prices will actually begin to drop.
IIRC, with the synchronization of all the players in a MP match, if someone is using a under powered PC then everyone else runs at the same speed as him making it seem like internet lag.
I would really like to hear more details, mostly the stuff i can't think of. But it's fine if you don't feel comfortable giving out any nuggets of info for whatever reason or everyone was working on the game like a all you can eat buffet with everyone taking a little here and a little there until you have no idea who did most of what. -edit- perhaps a better topic title would of been along the lines of "interesting facts about sins", perhaps that would have been more easy to a
Come on, any details at all? Like who designed the Kol battleship? Who came up with the "How sinister" reply in the beta? Any of the voices done by IC staff?
I have been wondering, of the employees of IC who did what in the creation of Sins of a Solar Empire? I don't mean to leave out everyone else on the credits list, but it seems apparent what most of those people did by the title of the section they are under, and Frogboy himself stated that SD had little to do with the actual creation of Sins beyond giving pointers and writing a few lines of code. But feel free to list anyone of relevance that had a hand in the actual making of sins, oh an
@thebadchopper What i would like to say to you will get me banned so use your imagination. @ everyone else bashing the OP, grow up.
