Okay, frogboy... There is just ONE single thing i want in 1.03, ignoring all others. I realized this after some more gaming. I BADLY want a simple checkbox.. "Teams start together" PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!! As it is now, teamgames are utterly pointless in anything with more than 1 star.. Why deny me the joy of a map with 2v2v2, where each team starts around their own star?

Hey, I'm Dutch also and i've bought the game (the virtual version) on the date it was released, and was pleasently surprised. The stardock application is quite like steam, downloading the game at incredible speeds and installing automaticly. Patching also works in the same manner. And yeah you can redownload it at any time by just logging in with your account into the Stardock program.
Also, you can change the background color at will, to any color you like, by simply loading the game, going to the effects menu, and ticking/unticking the 'Use deepspace skybox' (and the other similiar option) to cycle through all the available colors I tend to do this when i get a very dark skybox which i find makes it hard to properly see the units.
Try the vasari counterpart to this ship.. they have the same ability which freezes an entire fleet of frigates for 30 seconds :) it's rather fun too, can spam it with only 2-3 of these to permanently lock a fleet of frigates from moving...firing...running.. while you can take however long you need to kill them off
Not to forget Assailants with AOE upgrade, which unlike TEC, can always be firing AOE based missiles. And ofc the much overlooked support cruiser with the distortion field ability, which can disable entire fleets of frigates for 30s. and that's with 1 ship, add 4 or so and enemy frigates wont ever be able to move, regen, fire.. let alone escape. All the while your assailants are burning them down with nice AOE damage. The vasari battleship is my favorite out of all the capitals, the pow
It's been mentioned a few times but not nearly enough for such an important and easily fixable issue. Teams in teamgames need to start close together. Fixed positions, not 100% random as it is now. Many of the maps are designed with fixed positions in mind and having your teammate in another solarsystem is no fun.
Keep in mind you can save internet games and continue whenever you want :) I've played a fair number of 2v2's on most of the 'medium' sized 2v2 maps and the longest they've lasted is 3 hours. With the average time being more around 1.5-2 hours. I'm sure there's exceptions to the rule (I would prefer them to be longer, but im sure i'll get my wish when people get better at the game)
Due to the popularity of these forums and an apparent lack of a suggestion/bug reports forum (I could be blind, do point me in the right direction if i'm mistaken :)) this thread has quickly fallen to page 4 or so. The very nature of the problem leaves us very little to discuss, I think everyone can agree it's a problem and that's that. I still hope it could catch a dev's attention so we might see a fix as soon as possible. That's why I feel inclined to bump the thread, so .. bump!
Perhaps the OP would like to post it as an idea here https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?forumid=404&aid=144384
I'm hoping it will get more attention as a thread here specificly on this subject. Then in another thread with many random ideas- which quite frankly has become a bit of a mess. I appreciate the idea though.
Good, i'm almost glad i'm not the only one seeing this problem. I loaded the maps in GalaxyForge also and checked if the starting positions were correct there, and indeed on the map TwinEmpires you SHOULD have teams starting close together. So to summarize all the above: We need an option to toggle fixed/random starting locations please! It's really nessecary to make teamplay viable in bigger games especially
And for some reason this post isn't showing up anywhere .. trying to add a reply to see if that fixes things
Let me start off by saying what a great game this is. Having said that I've been playing extensively since the game was released, especially enjoying 2v2 and variations to that theme (2v2v2v2) However as i've been noticing in several maps the starting locations of you and your teammate seem random, meaning they at times you may end up at the other end of the galaxy, this causes some real teamplay issues for me. In maps such as Twin Empires which is really a great 2v2v2v2 map it's quite obvious t
If you have the key, simply install the Stardock Central application, go to the 'games' tab, then select the 'Registration info' on the bottom right. There you can enter your cd key. Confirm it and the 'Games' tab should update- Right click 'Sins of a solar empire' and choose 'Install' That's all there is to it :)
