In Krath's defense, he had one of the worst starts I've seen in a while. Not worst of all time, but definitely bottom 10%.
Jesus. I wish you could see some of the starts *I* have to deal with. Krath's start in this game is just *beautiful* compared to the starts I often get. I pray for a start like Krath's in this game! Just the other day I had nothing colonizable within TWO, yes you read it correctly TWO phase jumps away. All I had were de
I noticed how colonize is always on avoid/never autocast, any reason why ?
Because if you go into a planet with more than 1 enemy siege frigate, your capital ship will colonize, and then the siege frigs will kill the planet before you can kill the siege frigs. So you just wasted antimatter on colonization, you just wasted money on underdevelopment costs, yadda yaddda. You can usually leave it on autocast if you are colonizing a roid, because your cap will
Agent of Kharma--go for it. There's no reason why ICO cannot be user-regulated. Form a club. Everyone in the club would be required to have a separate user name (one of their five allotted) for the club. Club accounts could only allow members of the club onto the Friends list and members would have all of the other members on their Friends list and in that way could host freinds only games. The
I don't kick newbs for vets. If you've been waiting, you get to play. It's that simple.
I've never played with you Amish, but I'm pretty sure that after I do, I will add you to my extremely short list of "class act clanners." From what I've read and heard, perhaps Sanchez will be added in the future too. I don't think Darvin3 is in a clan, but I'd like to play with him - he seems like a class act as well.
You guys missing the point, if u play on the new Faster speed you dont need feed!
Actually, that makes strategic play largely pointless. Then why do we even need to get planets for income? Just have the game give everyone 100 credits per second and have them throw masses of ships at each other until they are blue in the face.
Then he booted one person with no record, saying he was a noob. Another person left out of (rightfully) being angry about this. Then Achilles further asked about 'why noobs ruin everything' or something around those lives. After I said that new people are needed to get games running, he started questioning my scores, which I'd assume was to boot me. Needless to say, the game lasted fifteen minutes, and by all means was disastrous after nearly an hour of waiting.
Funny t
More... It happens non-load up too. In fact, it just plain happens every time you hit that hotkey to build a particular capship and don't have a planet selected, which is easier to do than you think. At any rate, it shouldn't crash the game. Rather it should simply do nothing. Can anyone confirm?
I would have put this in the technical category, but upon inspection it seems that category is concerned with helping people fix problems and issues that they have. I don't need help, so I'm putting this post here. At any rate, during load up screen, select scouts using your hotkey, then put them to autoscout. Then (again, during load up) build your capship using whatever hotkey you have assigned. The game promptly minidumps on loadup. At least it does for me,
I've played multiplayer with this game since the very first day it launched. Yet it still never ceases to amaze me just how many dicks and assholes multiplayer with this game attracts. Today I was on ICO. It often takes hours to get into a game. I had been patiently waiting a long time, just as many others had. Finally, a 10 player game filled up, hosted by Pawelo. Teams were being picked, when all of a sudden 2 Brothers In Arms guys who hadn't waited at
I don't think I ever lost a game I went RA
Have you ever lost a game when you didn't? LOL.
Subverters have a thing against extractors.....which replay was this??? lol
It's on Astax's replays thread. You were in the south, had an Advent to your left (the southwest), and a TEC on your right (southeast) who wanted you to suicide your fleet on his "BOOM" SB, ha ha. He kept telling you that if you'd let him blow up your fleet, he'd quit like a good boy, LOL (yeah, right). Subverters were always my favorite unit from the instant I first played t
I'm glad to see its focus on singleplayer. After all, only 5% or something of SoaSE customers have even tried to go online.
I'd guess even less than that. I'm an MP kind of guy, but I agree, multiplayer is totally dead in this game. I don't think the devs should give any consideration at all to MP - it wouldn't make good business sense, and it would be wrong to cater to less than 1% of the player base. I mean, get online sometime. 50 people?&
He did it a while back, but I always kept my mouth shut about it. But then I see a thread where he's posting to blacklist other people? The nerve! He was in a game with me, JJ, and a ton of other people. He mercilessly berated a newb in game (when the guy really did nothing wrong), then when the guy quit because he didn't want to be subjected to it anymore, p5yy laughed and joked about it in game. Then he laughed and joked about it more in the lobby, bragging t
The people that griped about carriers in their heyday were unwilling to counter them with LF.
Totally incorrect. Many people, including myself, tried and tried and tried and tried and tried to counter them with LF. The first problem was, even just a little LRF included in the mix would totally devastate any attempt at an LF counter. Secondly, it just plain didn't work regardless. Carriers could kite, LF dps against carriers was extremely sucky,
What's this? Add yourself to the blacklist, p5yy, because you are a total jerk.
Another faster game setting? I suppose my MP days are totally finished now :-( I always hated the fast speeds everybody plays on. Now it will be evern worse.
Hey agent, Do you really think its fair that a Vasari player, at any point in the game, can send a migrator to your HW unnoticed, and there is nothing for you to do except watch your empire like a hawk from above at all times? ... It only makes sense that migrators (and other sb constructors) are dangerous offensive weapons, and you research phase monitoring tech to warn yourself of dangerous offensive weapons, so why don't the constructors trigger t
You say these units are so great, but you never see anyone use them.
Correction. I just downloaded a 4v4 and watched it. I saw Cykur use a few subverters. In one instance they all jumped at once and disabled a... (drum roll please...)... extractor! In another instance they did jump and disable a small group of ships, but it was a very small group of ships that was about to be annihilated anyway, and of course they all jumped and disabled the same
I remember almost all carriers, almost all of the time... but that's just my experience.
well if u want spam vs spam JUST OUTNUMBER ur enemy's fleet like 2 to 1
well assuming that's an option, of course i would do that every time (and if 10 to 1 is an option, i would do that). but this question is based on the assumption that both players have roughly equal resources and positions and fleet supply. this is a question purely of "what is the best combo of units to build to counter X?"
In response to #52, 53: Why is it so set in stone for you that fighters cannot be rebalanced to become the LRF counter they were intended to be?
How long have you been playing the game? Fighters were buffed once before in this game's history. You know what happened? All you EVER saw anyone build, EVER, was TONS and TONS and TONS and TONS and TONS and TONS and TONS and TONS and TONS and TONS and TONS and TONS and TONS of carriers loaded with fighters.&n
Overseers are nice cause unlike all other support curisers their effects stack. warp 10 overseers in next to your dieing starbase/capship and you will see what i mean.... can we say not quite dead yet? lets see hoshikos do that.
Nah. Sounds fantastic in theory, looks great on paper. But you aren't going to get your 10 overseers anywhere near a battle with a skilled player. If you do, you will lose them all in your suicide mission to heal your cap or st
On an aside, I'd really like to know when my starbase is under attack, in the same way that the computer yells at me if my lone scout gets hit by a single bullet ("Our forces are under attack").
This is a damn good point. Perhaps it could be matrixed in with the "nerf orkulus" vote?
So you'd counter balance with balance? Then just win with better skill or something? I'd rather win with unit composition, LOL. I guess the ideal counter to mixed flak/lrm is hc, but for this hypothetical let's assume this is unavailable, impractical to attain, whatever. So hc is out. What would you counter with? In theory you could say "I'll counter his lrm with scouts or fighters, and I'll counter his flak with lf," but then his lrm will murder your lf,
