you complain alot dont you? its been there for ages, why has no one but you complained?
But they have, asshole. You just don't read.
i mean, seriously, you were complaining before about a illum 'spam' kicking your ass when you just spammed assailants.
You really do have a reading-comprehension problem, don't you, ****face? I tried to explain to you about, oh, 10 times, that I did NOT complain about an illum spam kickin
There are so many ways to beat this one specific ability that it isn't even funny. You can break up your fleet into smaller elements, rotating them in/out so the whole fleet isn't in range. You can attack with HC's and use any number of repair units/abilities to offset the MB.
That's your argument? Really? So I have to worry about dividing and micro-ing multiple smaller fleets, I have to have already built HC's, yadda yadda. Well let me ask you a simpl
Finally had a marza missle barrage me. Strangely enough, in a couple hundred games played (online), I've never had it happen. And since I don't play TEC, I've never used it before. I was advent, playing against a TEC. He attacked me at one of my planets (all lrm, basically). I had a larger number of illums than he had lrm, and pushed him back - he took pretty big losses from my recollection. I then pressed ahead and attacked him. In waltzes his marz
What's the highest dps capship? A Marza? I suppose 100 Marzas would be the answer.
if you REALLY wanted to try something unorthodox, instead of taking a shot in the dark and building some cap ship that turned out to be a bad one, you could wait on the cap ship and do early colonizing entirely with frigates.
I've actually considered doing this before, I'm just not 100% down on what capship would counter what capship. I know that Advent battleship mana burn would tend to counter support caps, maybe vasari battleship too with disruptive strikes.</p
I only played against him once that I know of.
Well... what race did he play, and what was his playstyle like?
If we have a gold list of players, could we also make a... I dunno, what's a really sucky metal? Tin perhaps? I would like to petition myself as the first player to grace the Tin List of Players. Since no one else is around I will try to write a small review of myself. Agent of Kharma - Sort of like one of those football teams that can (sometimes, anyway) beat anyone, yet totally lose to someone sucky. Snatches defeat from the jaws of victory on a regular basis
Tried this again with a few games tonight, this time on multiplayer online. Put metal up at the beginning of the game but it never sold. People were buying on the back market too, it seems, as I would see it run up and crash back down. So what's up with this?
Dude you went vs Illuminators with Assailants are you mad?
Look, I respect you as a player and all (I really do - I've seen you play), but are you saying you've NEVER DROPPED A MIL LAB AS VASARI, THEN RUN OFF SOME ASSAILANTS IN THE OPEN? Are you really saying that? You mean you wait until you have thoroughly scouted each and every opponent in the game before you start building any units at all? If you say "yes," I suppose that's fantastic, but to be ho
I was instigated to write this because of the reaction I sometimes get upon using the word "spam" (see typical reaction here: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/344963/page/1/#2122614). The word "spam" can be used in many ways of course (junk email, junk food, etc), but let us examine how it is used in computer games, particularly this one. The most common, most used meaning, which can be either noun or verb but connotes the same thing, is a derogatory meaning or "put down" t
This is the second post of yours (Agent) where you talk about spamming Assailants and getting flattened...maybe a new strategy is in order?
Nothing wrong with spamming assailants in the early minutes of the game as vasari. I've seen JohnJames do it so many times I can't count. I've seen tons of "pro" players do it. The advice that "pros" used to give (a while back, admittedly) was to NEVER build light frigs at the start. Rather, just jump straigh
To stop ships from going off and chasing ships they aren't supposed to chase, go under the tactics menu for fleets and put them on "hold position." Then your ships will stay right where you have them situated. This is an especially good idea when you are defending and need them to stay in range of repair bays (or a starbase, etc), but it's a good idea in general. There are lots of "tricks" to reduce micro. Say you want ships built at a planet to automatically find th
"Phil Thomas Katt" - a strange screenname. No wins, no losses, no games ever played. Stomped my brains in, of course. I suspect it was Siddy, because of his "flak are OP" post. In that post, he said that if flak weren't adjusted he'd simply abuse the hell out of illum/flak spam. Flaks would cover illums from fighters, he said. The brief synopsis of the game - I went vasari, this dude went advent. I started with the almost necessary (for vasari) as
How exactly does this work? Never tried it before the other day. Stuck about 2000 metal up there. Nothing ever happened (left it on the default price, and it said I was the lowest seller). Lowered the price some after about 15 minutes, still nothing happened. This was against the AI, by the way. What exactly does this do? Does it stick the stuff on the same "market" that is used to buy and sell generally? Or is it a different market? Doe
re-suck What the Vassari egg has to do once it cleared a planet, but wated to long to colonise it and the enemy re-colonise it....
LOL. Stick that definition in the "Sins catch-phrase dictionary."
I'd prefer Starbases being built just like any other structure where you can destroy the builder and stop the construction.
Would be impossible to get one up in a contested well. It was essentially impossible in one of the beta builds. If you make it too impossible to pull off, you've just screwed vasari out of their "assault cruiser."
I think his actual complaint is that, for him personally, games last too long. He wants games to be over quicker, and if he could reduce the hit points of units he has to wade through to win (namely flak), he can make games finish quicker. If that is the case, I am against any adjustment to flak. First reason is that I don't think the game should be balanced around the tastes of quick-twitch rusher-types who play fast games on fast speed in MP, possibly while snorting spee
Look, MP is full of assholes. It's why I have (again) gone back to single player just about exclusively. I don't really enjoy playing an AI all that much, but it's better than dealing with all the assholes you get online. Besides, everyone in MP wants to play the game as some super-fast arcade-like click-fest than as a strategy game. If I wanted that, I'd play a first person shooter. In the situation you just described, the best thing for you to do is simply hi
Build 1 millitary lab buy 100 crystal(sell metal as needed) build 1 civilian lab
At this stage, what is building 1 mil lab and 1 civ lab doing for you? You'll need 2 mil labs to get lrm, and 2 civs to get ice/volcano/trade ports.
I have not been able to deploy lrm in a grav well that 1) has significant numbers of fighters, and 2) a general that will micro those fighters to target all my lrm. That is irrespective of the numbers of flak I deploy. In other words, in my experience the fighters will kill the lrm before the flak kill the fighters. However, I'm not calling Siddy a liar. I mean, what do I know? I suck, and he's "skilled" or whatever. So I'd like to know from others, parti
Just for the record, I tested 1 flak against 1 lrm. The lrm totally kicked the ass of the flak. Then I tested 1 flak against one lf. Same results - the lf won with many hit points to spare. This admittedly didn't take into account any of the dynamics Cykur referred to, such as repair, micro, yadda yadda. But it's a good "baseline." Personally, I hope there is great pause and consideration before considering a nerf to flak, because I don't want to go bac
. If anyone ever played Space Empires there is a way to create warp points to each system, I think it would be cool to include that in Sins.
Would be unfair to the vasari, who have this as an exclusive tech. Would also make the races more and more similar, destroying what asymmetry is there.
Give us guns!! And lots of em. Please
Actually, I hate guns. They look like stupid little sticks sticking out of the chassis, and even worse, they don't move, even though they may be targeting something at an off-angle. Sort of like the guns on the Kol stick straight ahead even when it is firing off at an angle. Guns look cheesy and stupid and low tech. Keep the flush mount.
how is a HC rush supposed to work? wouldn't that just get completely owned by hangar defense set to bombers?
I don't know how it is "supposed" to work, as I'm no expert on it. In fact, that was the first time I ever experienced such a thing. However, I can tell you that it caught me, and nearly killed me outright, because I had focused on expansion early, which is a totally natural thing to do. In other words, I dropped 2 civil labs to get the volcanos
That naughty Astax once chased one of my Marza's through something like 6 systems with his assailants keeping it at about 200 structure.
I remember when I chased your damn egg into the pirate base, limping with about 200 hp. Alas, it still survived :-(
