Squadrons rebuild in a few minutes.
I see squadrons replaced instantaneously.
Squadrons are 100% reliant on sustaining their numbers to remain viable. If the number deteriorates faster than it can be rebuilt, then the carriers are left unable to do damage. If this happens in seconds, the carrier ends up doing 1 volley of damage before it dies/runs/craps its pants.
So what? That means the carriers are countered, right? I'll sa
If flak really gets the power to liquify fleets simply by LOOKING at them, then carriers become worthless.
I don't know that I said flak should have the power to liquefy by simply LOOKING. Just off the top of my head, it should be balanced the same as any other counter for any other unit in the game. What is the "liquefy by looking" ratio of, say, lrms to light frigates? Is it half as many lrms will take out twice the light frigs, leaving what.
My favorite scenario is when I find a cluster of planets that the enemy has neglected to defend well. You send in 6 SFs and murder a planet. Unless the main fleet is literally next door, they'll try to take out your SFs with a small force of a few LRM frigates or whatnot. When they do, you scatter the group - send the 6 SFs in groups of 2 in 3 different directions, if you can, and hit 3 more undefended planets. Keep going back and forth like this for as long as you can. The economic da

Do **NOT**, I repeat do **NOT** even remotely consider buffing siege frigate armor, hit points, or survivability! Period, paragraph, end of story! PERIOD! If anything, I'd nerf it even more! The hit points and survivability should not be above a scout frigate! After getting the game the first day it came out, and going through the first patch, I simply put the game down and walked away for a year. Never touched it, never considered playing it again,
that's why i said its easy for tec and advent, much ahrder for vasari.
Oh. Duhh. So what's the counter for vasari, besides enforcers with damage upgrade and inertia field (I won't get either - if straight enforcers get slaughtered, I can't see how the upgrades will make a difference, and I'll be dead before I can get 7 labs anyway)?
For completely ruining this game and making it into a spammer's heaven.
Thing is, before carriers people spammed lrms. People will always spam something - you will never get away from that. Period. That's this game, and that's every other game. If carriers are nerfed, there will be a new spam. Now, that doesn't mean carriers shouldn't be nerfed (perhaps they should be, perhaps they shouldn't be). It's simply to say that you should jus

I tried mass enforcers in a game yesterday and could not kill hoshikos that were essentially by themselves.

Nope, can't upload a screenshot no matter what I do! Happens every time.
Well at least after several names exchanged between the two of us, there is something in common now.
I think we still have a disagreement, because the way I see it you complain about tactics, and want them forcibly removed from the game. I don't mind tactics at all. It is important to realize that what I was testing here was the units themselves, with NO tactics. H

I have entrenchment, but I'd probably have extreme trouble getting an online game with it, thus my tests are on Sins 1.13. I will try to post some screenshots of the game, but not sure the replay will work good enough. Also, even if it does work, I've had trouble getting screenshots to post in the past.

My problem with overseers is that I can't get them to autocast. The autocast is on, but they just sit there and do nothing. I just tried it again a few seconds ago in an online match. Built one, it wouldn't autocast, so I didn't build anymore. Wasted the research. I mean, how am I supposed to compete with a tec player if his hoshikos are spamming repair automatically, while I am having to manually click on an overseer and manually click on a unit to heal up?

QUESTION: Is it possible to counter the much-vaunted carrier and its associated strikecraft WITHOUT building carriers? I decided to test it personally. SYNOPSIS: I chose an online opponent whom I have played before, and whom my friends have played (and beaten). The people I play with consider him "mediocre." We played a 1v1, random small map. I chose vasari, he chose tec. OPEN: I dropped a mil lab right away, queued up a space wh
There is NO way to balance flak damage values against carrier hit and run tactics, because it has nothing to do with the flak's damage, the squadron's health, nor the carrier's rebuild rate. The carrier doesn't stick around long enough for any of those things to become a factor. It's all because the carrier can do high speed and high damage hit and run attacks, and it can keep on doing it without personal restriction. No other ship can do this.
I'm not sure I

At any rate, I don't necessarily agree with you, but perhaps you shouldn't be trying to catch them anyway - at least not in the way that you are trying to do it. Perhaps that's one of your

Was playing around with overseers. 1) If you buff a unit's max HP then heal it up real quick to max, then buff it again, you lose hit points. The "rebuff" takes off the hit points you just gained, and you have to heal them up all over again. Is this a bug, or intended? 2) I couldn't really get overseers to autocast. Has anyone seen them do it?
This is the reason why. A small fleet of light carriers jump in, staying out of the SB's guns then releases their SC. They just chill at the extreme edge of the gravity well for 3-5 minutes, jumping out at any sign of trouble if needed. The Strike Craft, the SB has in its hangers are not enough to defeat the spam and unlike the spam fleet those SC can ONLY defend the SB making them much less usefull. Then the SB dies. Wow, that flippin fantastic isn't it?
As

It seems you just want all ships to square up against each other, look each other in the eyes, then unload guns into each other until the last man is standing. You could

Caps don't need flak guns - that's what flak frigs are for. Caps having flak guns ensures that flak frigs remain useless. Someone will say "but flak frigs suck! we can't use those!" Well, the solution isn't to stick flak guns on caps, the solution is to FIX THE DAMN FLAK FRIGS! Doesn't that sound easy enough to understand? Edit: In thinking about it rationally, cap ships already have features of other frigs, i.e. they have long range missles, they have
