That's actually how most alarms work on ships. They are played for a brief period, like a few seconds, then stopped because further playing it serves only as a distraction.

Ditto. That sound effect is pretty widespread. Plus, a lot of alarms don't actually sound like that.

I definitely remember SC1 being on a bunch of stuff. I personally didn't enjoy it as much. I also meant SC2 by saying the first one. Since I never got into the first one. Bit of a slip-up. But bashing a console release on this game is stupid as the game never had complex controls in the first place. Wasn't the first one on 3DO as well? Hell, all you needed for it to play were up, down, left, right, and three other buttons. It was never a very extensive control setup.
