ok, I've got a few good ones, but I think I'll just post one for now. I don't actually know exactly how that works..But whatever email was used when buying the game will probably recieve a registration number that you put into impulse. So, yeah, it should work. You just have to wait for beta two which should be available really really soon :)
Just tried online play for the first time last night. The experienced players were nothing but supportive of myself and another new guy in our game. There were some jokes ("Our noob is better than yours, ha, ha"), but it was all in good fun :P So yeah, I'm pretty glad I tried it :)
Ah, woe is me who has to wait for beta two :( Oh well. I hope it comes out soon.
In that gamespot review it said commanders would all get the same set of units. It seems a pity that the customization isn't available there. I'd like to see either a unique set of units for each general, and/or the addition of units to the skill tree, so the generals can play as differently from eachother as the assasins.
I guess...but they should easily be able to get that from an email address, AND it's more secure.
Adding more options here would add more to those Nietzschian (and generally philosophical)aspects that gamespy was talking about...Like...nuking an enemy world should certainly affect their happiness towards you. An enemy who you just nuked should would be a lot less likely to form cease-fires and trade agreements with you, but leaving their populations intact might make holding a newly acquired planet more difficult(and probably lower loyalty there a lot)...but would make diplomacy a hell of a
One big problem for me has been fleet selection in the sidebar. for some reason when I select my fleet it scrolls down(moving the fleet out of my view), making it impossible to double click so I can focus on it. I really think that sidebar should only scroll when I do the scrolling myself.
Then again, if everything orbits, everything has to either at different ranges or orbiting at the same seed....or they will eventually run into each other. that would completely shut down the manual placement option..maybe have just platforms orbit a little further out in the gravity well than where you can build other things...? But then they become weaker, since if it IS in range, it would quickly orbit away.
After this game, it's not gonna e so indie anymore :) here's hoping you guys keep putting this much effort into your games in the future man...I think that sheer effort both during and after production is what makes you great.
