I find it curious that the people opposed to a single player campaign do so on the basis of the fact that they don't play the campaigns anyway. I guess the people who don't play multiplayer should object to the inclusion of multiplayer in the game. I know this is repeating what chrizzle said above, but he's dead on - why can't we have both. Note that most of the major game rankings and reviews either deducted for lack of a campaign or at least mentioned it in their negative comments

Let me know when the campaigns are added - then I'll buy the original and the expansion, or the "gold edition" containing both. Until then, I don't do multiplayer and skirmish gets boring quickly. I think the omission of a single player campaign was a blunder. It is listed under "cons" in almost every review I've read so far. Single player is still more common than most editors at gaming magazines and online gaming sites may believe.

Judging by the interest in forums and discussions on every site I have looked at regarding this game, the omission of a single player campaign may have been a blunder. The multiplayer fans can say what they want, but certain people, myself included, will pass on this game unless and until a single player campaign is offered.
