Gradual performance degradation reminds me much more of some kind of a memory problem than a CPU issue, but you could try to check the CPU cooler and make sure it's not obstructed by a fine collection of dust and ground electricity bills. Then you could run some kind of a thermal sensor monitor while playing in windowed mode, and if your CPU temperature hops to something ridiculous, then it's likely that :) . If not, or cleaning the cooler solved it, you could always try disabling SLI

And I have a gut feeling that, if you barely(or not at all, as above) meet the _minimum_ requirements, you can't really expect it to run flawlessly if you turn every detail setting to max, usually that sort of minimum requirements are for running the game playably, yet it probably wont apply if you try to cram up 16xQ at widescreen resolutions with highest fidelity presets on a several years old GPU.[e digicons]XD[/e] I think that, you can get a 7600GT for really cheap these days

You're much more likely to get help if you post a dxdiag log here. Do it by opening the Start menu, selecting Run(or simply focusing on the search field on Vista), type in "dxdiag" without the quotes, press Enter, save information to disk, select all in the file and post it as a reply. Then somebody will probably help, as its much more informative to trained geek eyes than that [e digicons]8C[/e]

Syfted, I see that you're using 180.84 forceware if my driver name comprehension isnt playing tricks on me, I'm not sure if it's any help but I think you should try to uninstall your drivers, boot into safemode, run driversweeper, run ccleaner, boot back into XP and install these .

This worked for me: 1. Remove things like webcams and xbox controllers for windows(I've no clue why, but it seemed to work after I removed mine at last, though it could be the following) 2.
