Reply to GETTING HELP for GalCiv II / Dark Avatar in Galactic Civilizations II Stardock Forums

I had been running this game with no problems, on Windows XP 64 bit, for a long time. Then I took a break, for a few months, and now the game won't run. Either from the launcher or direct from the .exe, when I click on it, the game freezes, in a window covering about 60% of the screen, never giving an error message, but never going to full screen, or showing the logo. I've uninstalled and then reinstalled the game, and I've updated my graphics drivers, and neither is offering any joy. Can you
