My system is 3-4 years old, I have 3GHz and a GF6600GT (128MB) and the DEFAULT (!) settings preset by the game after installation were: everything set to HIGH except for the "bump" settings, they were preset to LOW. The game runs perfectly on my old machine, no lags, no low-fps so far. I've played 4 small maps with up to 30 planets and 1360 supply fleets and 2 AI enemies and mostly not from "first person perspective". So I can't tell whether it's ok online or with larger maps and more

I seemed to also have had this issue. Have a closer look though, it seems the ships do take the normal exits of a planet, but they travel directly to the destination planet's exit point. They do not venture into the Phase Stabilizer itself and the do not come out of the target portal. And as mentioned above, they need to be fully constructed. Hope this helps. :)
I have played Vasari now (first time). But I didn't need the Captive Supplier point. Just 2 research labs as usual. Hmmm...
Oh my, I think my research queue prevented the fleet research to start. Heh. Just came to me while I read your answer.
In the research menu under 'Fleet Logistics' in the lower panel you can pump up your fleet capacity. I currently have 9% upkeep to pay for my 250-slot fleet. Now I want to increase the fleet size. But I don't understand the following: "Requires 2 of any research structure". I have completed the military and civilian research trees and already built enough labs to do that. What do those fleet requirements mean? I can't make any sense of it. Thanks for your posts.
