The only issue I see is touched on by Nucleus above: In Skirmish I could try out different DGs, in Pantheon I'm rather stuck with one. Or has that changed and I can play any DG from the side I chose? Even then, it's still fun to play both sides. Edit: Ah hah! OK, well, what if I choose a light DG, and want to try a dark? Can't change sides in Pantheon. Just saying.
Sigh. Stop thinking of this game as a 1v1 game. Its not! Its a team game!
I completely agree with your statement - Demigod IS in fact a team game, but: if you are suggesting Erebus needs to be beaten 2v1, then that rather points out that he has a few balancing tweaks in order. If you are saying he's more manageable in a 2v2 (Demigods A+B vs. C+Erebus) scenario, that still ends up being A+B vs Erebus, or in the case of A vs Erebus and B vs C, Demigod A (wit
Honestly? I suppose I agree with Healer. it was fun to use the Windows 7 RC, but now I'm just looking forward to the release version. Admittedly, Windows 7 RC performed far better than Vista games-wise, but October is not so far off, may as well wait for release.
Just a heads up: http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9136295/Microsoft_takes_Windows_7_RTM_public_on_Thursday?taxonomyId=1 You can download RTM legally, but you will need to input a legally purchased activation code once you purchase your final product October 22. EDIT: As an aside, a better place to find more informed answers would be a place like
Good question. I have NOT gotten RTM yet, but you make a good point. If you can go straight to RTM, then that would be the smart thing to do. I am assuming that you can just put in an activation Key when you purchase Windows 7 retail, just make sure when you install RTM, you install the version you plan on buying. So, Premium RTM==Premium Retail.
If you install the RC, there is no upgrading to retail from that. You'll need to freshly install. That said, the RTM will be released at some point, and that will let you upgrade, and there are ways of allowing RC upgrade to RTM, so. Do some Googling, you'll find it, just look for Windows 7 upgrade from RC to RTM. This may very well work for release too - I don't know. I plan on fresh installing, as upgrades are always a bit... wonky
Enraged, just go into Options -> Video, and choose the topmost video setting (Windowed). If you want the window to run in a resolution better than the 1024x768 (I think) default, add a /windows to the shortcut: C:\ \demigod.exe /windowed 1600 1200 Or some such. In fact - you can probably get away with JUST the command-line option.
Another team to add to the list: EvilTwinTepe, Yetibus, Einkil, and Matimeos. (All US East) We only really tend to premade-play on Mondays though!
Welcome back! Like a few others stated: allowing the Host to randomize teams is a necessity, but I think forcing all Custom games to be random would turn groups away as there'd be no way for them to play together with the current setup. It'd be great to have the random/not-random switch shown in the lobby (pre-lobby?) so that way premades will pick out other premades quickly, and those wishing to avoid will be able to. It just saves people from connecting to a game, asking to randomiz
I've said this in other threads plenty of times - and I'm sure I've played with a couple of you before so you know I'm not lying: Just about every Monday I host/play in a bunch of games with friends, premade. I don't announce it, because all it does is make people leave the lobby, and has me waiting another 5 minutes for someone to replace (nevermind that in that time someone else will leave rather than wait anmd... ... blah blah, etc.). Heck, I even admit to lying about it, often win
[e digicons]k1[/e] Wish I could give more. I try to play with friends as much as possible, if I'm solo, I skirmish. It has nothing to do with winning more (look at my mediocre stats for proof), I just find it far more fun to play with a couple Buddies on my team.
I demand a moat for my Rook. Or maybe some stonemasons can come and finally finish those towers on my shoulders. In all seriousness, this is a great idea!
While I tend to believe kryo on this one, can someone confirm that IRO.exe is the way to go for this scenario? Looking at what Frogboy stated in the 'A New Day' thread he says to forward all 100 ports to one IP. I assume that is for simplicities sake in order to not complicate things for those less knowlegable of routing/routers/etc.
Our plan is to make sure users know whether they got a direct connect, a NAT traversal connect or a proxy connect but that won't be in tonight's build.
And what about the ImpulseReactorOptions.exe?
Stupid question perhaps, but I often have a friend over and we'll both MP from here. I assume the port-range forwarding specific ranges (30 for my IP, 30 for his) using 'ImpulseReactorOptions' will still work?
but staying in a 5v5 when ur team has all dced and there team hasn't got one dc seems o so pointless
Certainly a fair argument, but really, they have to kill the AI bots anyway, I may as well see what I can learn. I'll be frustrated, but still, oddly, having fun. Especially with that rare last-second, "I got him!" kill that's never expected :) [edit]: Then again, maybe I'm just that sort of vindictive where I feel like even if I'm the last human on a 5-man
What bothers me the most about trying to justify leaving in a huff, is that the leavers appear to be under the impression that their opponents are pricks that want nothing better than to laugh at their failure, when a simple comment to 'all' (using shift-enter) asking how your opponent accomplished that win, or a "You slimy bastard, I'll get you next time!" might lend to starting a friendly conversation out of what could otherwise turn
It may be nothing - but do you have any kind of temperature monitors in your system? If some components get hot enough they'll shut your system down (rather than fry it). If you have any other graphics intensive game, may be worth trying out - get them loaded, play a bit, and see if they do the same.
I'm having the same problem. After the patch on... well patch .0093 I can no longer get Skirmishes to work. I get all the way to being able to watch people connecting, and then everybody drops out and the match never really starts. Though, I do tend to stop waiting after a few minutes have gone by - so maybe I'm just not being patient enough.
I think the point is that those are names for the AI. Unless I am somehow mistaken.
Well boo. There goes feeling good about a win [e digicons]:dur:[/e]
Agreed. I always fight to the last, simply because while it CAN be frustrating, I LOVE when I get those uber-kills off, or manage to fight off a wave and give us a chance to push baclk a bit. Sure, it won't last, and if the opposing team is doing well enough already they'll just come back, but at least make then WORK for the win. I guess what I'm trying to say is that even when I'm getting trounced I love putting up a fight, if only because it amuses me. On the other sid
Were you playing against GOMEN, Darkheart, and Aone?
Funny - I played with them last night - silence! I at least tend to say 'hey' and giove a GG towards the end of a match. Also always fun to compliment the guy who just chased you half-way across the world for that killing blow and survived the towers. I have to say though, so far I haven't gotten any smack-talk or nastiness - those that have been chatty were pretty cool so far.
I looked up Ctrl in Options (Controls) and it shows "Restrict to Demigods" as the function it is bound to. I do not quite understand this. Is anyone able to explain the meaning of this function's name?
Just to reply to this quick: Holding CTRL down will only allow you to click on a Demigod. It means when you're trying to target that stealthy little skeleton of Lord Erebus rather than one of his million minions, just hold CTRL, and you're garaunteed to click
Er, where exactly do you add in a nick name? I did add in a gamer tag, and I'm guessing now that that is not correct, as I still show as my username rather than gamer tag.
OK, so I feel a tad silly asking - but hey, I'm also the guy that has his CPU underclocked to a whopping 1.0GHz. Where would I do that? Found it, changed to Stereo and giving it a go now.
