Well! This is a tad embarassing. SO I run DXdiag the first time, and it shows my processor speed as 1.0GHz. "Now... wait a minute!" I say, shaking my head, "No way, I've got a dual core 2.8!" So, I reboot, check the BIOS, and what do I see? Ah, yes. Right under my CELL menu: Clock Speed: 200 (so far so god) Multiplier: 5.0 (not so good) So, I set the multiplier back to Auto, and rebooted. Get into windows, run DXdiag, and you get the above. The GOOD new

Finally home, here's my DXdiag: ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 4/17/2009, 19:57:41 Machine name: EVILTWINTEPE-PC Operating System: Windows Vista™ Ultimate (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 (6001.vistasp1_gdr.090302-1506)
Per my original post - I am currently only playing the game with /nosound. It DID help - a little. My game settings are in the original post as well s my computer stats. So, while the /nosound made a difference... eh. I still would like to play at something better than basically Low settings.
You have to enable it in the match options. When you go to start the skirmish it's the button after Change Agrena or whatever. You'll see Player Time outs I think. Just up that to whateevr.
I'll add my two cents here, in the hope that even though I've mentioned it before, that eventually Gas Powered will read it. Game works fine for a while then eventually dips to really bad FPS. But after 20 secs or so it'll be fine for a while, then get bad again. I had the beta and this did not happen. I updated my sound drivers (it's the Realtek high definition audio codec driver). I have not yet tried /nosound, but considering the game wo
What ports do I need to forward to play Demigod? I used the ReactorOptions and set 20 ports there that I have already forwarded. Do I need to forward anything else?
I used only the 20 ports in ReactorOptions and things seemed to work for me (6100-6120), andeven though new Hosted games show port 6037 or so, my friends could connect.
This can also happen mid-battle which makes it doubly annoying. You go to cast a spell and you can click all you want, it won't happen until you right-click move and recast it. I'd love to see a sticky post of 'known' or at least 'reported' issues!
Bumping the thread - this is a legit issue that's happening to far more people than just me.
Easy: run 'impulsereactoroptions.exe' which is found in your /bin directory. That'll open a window where you have an (empty) cehck box, and under that a range of ports. Put a check in the box, use the default ports (6112 to 6132) or give your own, and then change your router to forawrd the new, smaller, range to your IP.
The AMD Dual Core Optimizer won't run on Vista 64-bit. I hadn't considered that though. At least the last time I checked anyway. I'll do some research and see if it is out yet. I am running the latest video drives (182.50). I'll check on sound (I have some Realtek AC888(?) on board card), though with the /nosound switch that shouldn't make a difference (yet). Thanks! [edit] I misspoke, apparently you don't need the Optimizer in Vista (and it won't instal
I didn't have to set the 6073 port, I believe the range of ports is forwarded (by the game) through that 6073 port. Also, using the reactor options file, you can limit those ports to a range of 20 instead of 100. Not a bad idea.
It's in the Demigod BIN directory. Set your ports (about 20) and set up your router to forward them. Worked great for me!
I know a ton of these posts have been posted already, but maybe if there are enough someone besides the players will take notice. I'm aware that the Multiplayer aspect being glitchy right now takes precident, but really, I have a pretty good machine ad the game is still running at sub 24FPS on my machine. I'll post a dxdiag later when I get home, but here're my specs: AMD Athlon 64-bit 2.8GHz Dual Core MSI nVidia 8800GTX 4GB RAM</l
In Impulse you have to change your 'My Games' directory. Click on the Impulse 'orb' in the upper left... Choose 'Porperties...' Select 'File Location'... Change the folder to 'My Games' and put in the directory you want the game installed. You'll have to uninstall and reinstall the game to move it. You could /probably/ try archiving it first (right-click o the game and choose 'Archive') and the uninstall and reinsta

Does that mean those who already have nicknames in Impulse will be 'ported' over to show up as our nick instead of account?

I've tried everything in Shirley's post and still cannot update the game. I've even don e a fresh install with no luck. I am running version 1.0.0.0091 TO clarify: I've checked for updates from inside Impulse, and from the docked Impulse icon - nothing I 'Reset Data' and nothing I 'Verified Installation' and nothing I Uninstalled, and Re-Installed, twice, and nothing I even tried the Registry 'fix'
