I agree with this. If your playing on a really large map its a serious pain in the ass to hunt down where they spawned and either get them to the front lines, or scuttle them one by one. There needs to be a way to turn it on and off. Also having neutral planets allied with you is more trouble than its worth since you cant take over the planet and them controlling it does nothing for you
I wouldn't say the Ankylon needs a few levels to get going, that sounds more like the Ragnarov, Ankylon with Furious Defense and upgraded armour/hull at level 1 is still a nigh-unstoppable beast.
So far as ive expirimented, one on one the ragnarov can take out the ank at equal lvl through lvl 3 (though this may depend on ability choices) I havent gotten to test beyond that because i havent been able to get a equa
Choppyness is under known issues, possibly fixed in the next patch. As for the minidumps, send the save files to stardock.
Thanks for the reply. I sent the reports to Stardock, but its good to know that its known :-)
Ive never had the invisible titan bug, so im not seeing that correlation staying valid...
Playing a 6 player game againt hard AIs I was getting these strange bouts of choppyness some even culminating in minidumps. The game has also minidumped on me twice going back to the main screen. It did not do this to me ingames played on one star. Not sure whats causing it but it might be hitting the 2 gig limmit. I looked at my running processes wle the game was going and it was sitting at a gig and a half useage. It could be spiking above that. Im sory i could not be more specifi
My experience is not with distant star systems, mine is within the same system, and for hours after I've taken over the several planets they seem to like firing at. My enemies don't seem to fire at me. This definitely has to be a bug...
I have to agree, it seems pretty weak. Id say haveing it have more secondary effects, or have it be more power full but with a longer cooldown should to the trick of fixing it. Or replace it with something better. You stardock folk are so good at thinking of new things :-)
Seems like they also don't care about some of the victory conditions, I played the occupation mode, where i built and leveled a big fleet with a titan and upgraded my military and defense techs, and went after the occupied planet ready to fend off attacker. Three problems. 1. no one even attempted to go after it before i got there, and i kinda took my time. 2. No one cared or tried to take it back from me when i did take is, so i had no need to build a defensive&n
One thing ive noticed is that factions i have ceasefires, or even full alliances with, seem to still be able to bombard me with novalith bolts, and they do a LOT of it. This seems pretty undiplomatic to me. Im also having trouble getting some factions to send envoys, even after we have a ceasfire Is this normal?
after playing with the massive genocide machine that is the Rebel titan, and being pleased with its power, i was a little disappointed with the loyalist Titan at first. Individually the loyalist seemed weak and ineffective. That is until i got the point of the loyalist titan. Its not individually all that powerful, but with only a couple levels it makes a supporting fleet untouchable and unstoppable. After reaching lvl 6 i stopped losing
I havent been able to find an option for that. Luckily i was able to find a search that lead me to the right folder. i want to find a way to unhide it though. For now though, problem solved
I just upgraded to windows 7 and im having trouble finding the folder to put mods in. Ive followed the prescribed path but there dos not seem to be a "AppData" folder in the users/owner folder. Any advise from other Win 7 users
an oft asked question im sure, but is anyone atempting to update the graphical/planet mods(eg bailknights) for rebellion? Or is it just too early in the beta. Stardock has done some nice things with the graphis, but once you play with the modded graphics for so long its hard to go back :-p
Just got the beta yesterday and i want to talk about why i dont see a reason to build corvetts and why i want to want to buy corvetts. Ive tried using them for different things, like hit and run tactics and the like and I just find them useless. They are fast, and i like that they move around in combat (though it would be nice if it was a little more believeble looking) but i dont see any indication that the movment lets them get hit less. I could accept all that even if they did ANY dammage.
while i too imagined the colony ship to be larger, it's possible it is "colonizing" an inhabited world (they all have militia) and just bringing administrators to bring it under control. like how India was a British colony (as opposed to to the US).
umm, the US was populated before it was "colonized" too... I agree with your general point though. It seem like the planets were already populated before whichev
This is really exciting! Cant wait for the beta to open. Speaking of. Any info on that stardock?
Plus those new titan class ships might convert to some great big planet killers eh? or maybe a drakh mothership!
in the future are we going to be able to directly download past sins games we bought on impulse from your direct download? or are we stuck DL them from impulse. Cause if im only gonna be able to DL rebellion from you id like my other sins games to be available there too
I dont want to see it as just getting more life. In fact you could make the benifit of xp give different benifits to each class of ship, or at least each faction
So... you want the Supreme Commander thing where experienced units get more life up to a certain cap? I'll be honest, 95% of the suggestions I hear on these forums are basically people looking to add elements of Supreme Commander to SOASE. Not dissin' it, SupCom/FA were great games (same can't be said for numero dos). Just sayin', be honest about what you're asking for -Itharus
Haha. S
Just a suggestion for a small tweak. Why not let frigates and cruisers gain a few lvls of xp the more combat they see without getting destroyed. Im not talking more micro here either. I don't think they should get abilities, but simply have their hull/shield re-gen and firing rate go up a bit each lvl. This would give some reward for using strategies that keep your ships healthy from battle to battle rather than just throwing them into the
I would really like this as well, but if they don't the vast collection of planet available in the simplest mods out there will serve this purpose. I'm willing to bet that someone will have modified a planet and graphics mod to rebellion withing 24 hours of the beta release. You HAVE to love the sins modding community
While I agree that i dont want the game rushed to release, i do think a beta is a good idea at this point. Ive been in every sins beta so far and the game always changes substantially between the start of beta and the final release. This should be the time when they are getting our feedback on what of their ideas work and which don't. Its not like they are building a new engine here. Once beta starts, models will change, balance will be overhauled and core mechanics will be scrapped and r
bombing = infrastructure destroyed. bombing vs invasion is dependent on what you want it for. if its a big fiancial or production center that you want intact, or want the people as new "workers" bombing is not a good option. if your want to build your own thing entirely or just want the planet for strip mining, bomb the crap out of it
